You think Clark is vetting himself?

You think Clark's staff are maybe putting the finishing touches on making sure the closet is free of skeletons? Or maybe finishing up a strategy to explain the bones that are in there? If, God forbid, he hit on a young 2nd Lieu 15 years ago or got a sweetheart stock deal during the 90's, that will have to be dealt with quickly, because it WILL come out, and Big Media will portray it as much worse than lying about reasons for war, spending $.5T that we don't have, etc.

Maybe Clark & Co are just fine-tuning the plan for the next 14 months.

His name is mentioned a lot these days and mostly in positive terms. If he gets in the race, that will not last.

4. Freepers are on a rampage.

Those clowns have been after him almost every day. The problem is he is a threat to them. That's also partly why Dean is getting good press. Rove and friends would prefer him over Clark.

...three things that might fly w. non-lefty voters..

1. Getting fired as NATO commander

2. "Incident at Pristina"

3. "Perfumed Prince" poltical general

There is also that line that we shouldnt have an ex general running, which is more more a selling point to folks on the left who are leery of the military & the "military industrial complex".

5. I'm not sure of those are real liabilities with swing voters

at least not enough to make a big difference. But he does need to be prepared for the attacks and know how to respond to them.
