Just had a conversation with my 24 year old
left me a little down because I could not be optimistic. She said she fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up to shrub on the TV, she thought she was having a nightmare than realized he was giving the State of the Union.

She is totally against the change in SS. She feels right now the world is messed up, and all the people are interested in is MONEY, we are living in a greedy world. People are only interested in themselves and have no concern for others. She is against the war in Iraq, she is afraid of the draft and will not go if called. I told her if I was younger I would take to the streets and protest like in the 70's. She laughed and said that people don't do this much anymore and people don't care because it does not put money in their pockets. If this would give people money they would be on the streets because money is the name of the game today. She said everything comes down to money and greed. She calls shrub a clone of Hitler. I could continue with this conversation but don't want to bore you, I am sure you get the gist of our conversation. I wasn't much help because I could concur with her. I feel badly that I couldn't be more positive with her. She is correct. We talked about health insurance, that is another story. Shrub could care less about this.

I told her about a meeting I attended before I retired regarding the cost of Health Insurance. They told us the reason why health insurance is so expensive is because of the many seniors and cancer patients that are in their program. Maybe shrub just wants to get rid of all seniors, sick and disabled.

Oh well, my talk tonight did not lift my spirits. Maybe I need to go to the lounge.

1. Take heart
It sounds like you've got a wonderful, thoughtful, sensitive, compassionate, and intelligent daughter.

That's a Big Thing.

10. I think you've given her plenty
She has a clear vision of how the world is, she's got the courage and discernment to know her own mind, and you know what?

She's loaded with a kind of hope that only the young have, but it's different from when we were that age because the world is so different.

I think your girl is gonna do just fine.

3. I hit the streets and protest
if their is one going on on the weekend. But people are too busy now-a-days to do that. People today have different priorities then back then. There is nothing that can be done about it, it is due to the time that we live in.
One thing I realy dislike about our society is that everything is so fast paced. Everything must be obtained within a short matter of time, even shorter if you can make it so. In France it is required that every student travel abroad for 1yr or 2. Here it is not required. Most students choose not to take advantage of that opportunity because it will take away the time that is needed to get their degree.

4. Your Daughter
is a very intelligent girl. The most important point that should be brought up is that she can change things now, and by the time Shrub is out of office? She will have many years before her to let her voice be heard. Her dreams were not a nightmare....but an awakening. Let her voice ring true through the Democrat cause. We need more people like her. :)Bless you and have a good night.

7. Just like the Nazi's.
Maybe shrub just wants to get rid of all seniors, sick and disabled.

It detracts from the master race.

BTW, there was someone in the Bush/Walker family way back who did believe this about the disabled according to the Kitty Kelley audiobook that I'm listening to. It's been a while since I heard that section. The Family is what is called. They are appalling. Everyone of them -- down the generations.

9. Take Her to D.C. - Get In To See Your Senators and Congressmen....
do some personal lobbying. It is a great experience. Maybe it would encourage her to get into politics and maybe she will be a future factor in changing this mess. In my elder years I've had the opportunity to go to D.C. to lobby for an organization. If I had that opportunity when I was her age I might have wound up in politics. Now we have to rely on the her and her generation.
