When the two-day trial began this week, Assistant District Attorney Murray Newman told jurors it was one of the most disturbing he's seen.

"This case you are about to hear is going to horrify you and sicken you," he said. "Forty-two days after her birth, she lost her virginity to this defendant."

The child's mother, Eugenia White, 28, has been charged with failure to report child abuse. She had been dating Cook for about six months and prosecutors say she failed to take her daughter to the hospital and then claimed she had accidentally scratched the baby while changing a diaper.

The mother is being charged because she failed to report it.

There would be a mandatory minimum sentence if he had sold a bag of weed or had his third burglary attempt. That's about MONEY.

A friend who was a corrections officer told me that inmates watch the news and wait for the baby rapers to walk through the doors. His life is gonna be hell, but he was no doubt fucked up by some adult years ago who did the same to him.

There was a case in S. Africa last year where a week old baby was raped.

I cannot even fathom how someone could do that to a child, let alone a baby! This makes me so sick and so scared about what the world is coming to. I think, in this case, the mom should be held just as accountable and the baby should be taken away from her. How in fuck's sake would you make up an excuse about that??? I'm not a violent person, but I hope the two of them both suffer reallllllllly long and hard during the rest of their lives. And God willing, I hope that poor baby is put with someone who will love and take care of her like a real mother should.

... when I was living in Norfolk a Navy Petty Officer was convicted of raping his three month old daughter. As I recall, the mother caught him in the act. There are some really sick fucks out there. You have to wonder how often this happens and the perpetrators DON'T get caught.

Both my (soon-to- be) ex-husband and my mom worked in pediatric medicine for years. Now I do as well. It's a sick, scary world out there. I thank my lucky stars neither myself, nor my children have had to go through any pain like this (of course I am a mother lion who basically trusts no one), but there are people I have loved who have. It causes so much lingering emotional damage to the person and the people who love them. Someone who is a close part of my life was raped repeatedly from ages 4 through 10 and years later (she's 40), with a settled life for years with counseling, etc. still battles bulimia, (in my opinion) alcoholism, and she even tried to take her life last year.

It is very difficult for me to not support the death penalty when it comes to evil individuals such as this.

From a class I took, the speaker told us that the youngest victim he had heard about was just over a hour old, that's a new born girl, guys. And the oldest in her 90's. Yea there's some sick fuckers out there.

This happened in Feb of 2004...took them this long to get him in and convicted. I hope the prosecutor is sleeping now (at least some).

I once held a three month old baby that had 7 broken bones and was malnourished at Child Protective Services. It was so sad. The baby did not cry when she was hungry because she had learned there was no point. We thought she had been conditioned not to cry through the severe beatings.

I don't see any reason why this guy shouldn't have gotten life without parole. Some things are just completely unacceptable, period. Some people do not need to be a part of this society, ever.
