Is there any chance of a Gore run?
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 04:42 PM by ColdnGrey
I read dick morris's column and as even though 10 times out of 10.5 he's full of shit, it did get me thinking. Does anyone think that if Bush's numbers continue to fall, Gore might reconsider his postion not to run?

7. How many people
would vote for ANY candidate saying 'I told you so'

You have 9 genuine NEW candidates now...maybe 10.

After all the uproar, lives and money spent that people supported all this time...do they really want to hear 'I told you so?'

8. I would LOVE to say "President Gore", but unfortunately...
... he is not running.

He has steadfastly said so, many times. I don't know why people out there think he is lying to us. To run would make him everything that the right-wing attack machine said he was (and he is not). They called him a liar, they said you can't trust anything he says, a repeated theme of Bush's campaign was that Gore would "say one thing, and do another."

If he ran, he'd be crucified on that basis... and I can't say there wouldn't be merit to it this time. He knew that when he said (firmly) that he would not run. He will not run.

He definitely left the door open for 2008, however. He was always very careful to say he wouldn't run "this time".

9. Gore's problem.
Gore is not a power hungry mobster and that will prevent him from winning in 2004. He doesn't have the gang of thugs necessary to win.

To win in 2004, someone will be required to enter the fray, fight the slander, the lies, the threats, the press, and that's just the stuff from the religous right.

11. Yes. He's too "decent". They didn't call Clinton the "Big Dog"...
... for nothing. He wouldn't take any s***. Plus, he had Carville running the show.

10. No. And I am a Gore supporter
Bush*s numbers have nothing to do with it. Gore would have made a great president, but the voters and the democratic party were not willing to fight for him.
