Back when they were trying to sell us the war when they said we would be greeted as liberators and the Iraqis would throw roses at our feet. I know it was a short time that they said but I forgot.

thx

1. I don't think
anybody ever gave an estimate, at least nobody in any official capacity. They're dumb, but not THAT dumb.

Bush Says Major Combat in Iraq Over
Friday, May 02, 2003

U.S., Britain Mull U.N. Role in Iraq
WASHINGTON — Hours after making an historic landing aboard a moving aircraft carrier, President Bush told sailors manning the USS Abraham Lincoln Thursday that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended."

"Operation Iraqi Freedom was carried out with a combination of precision, speed and boldness the enemy did not expect, and the world had not seen before," Bush told a sea of blue and khaki standing on the flight deck. "Marines and soldiers charged to Baghdad across 350 miles of hostile ground, in one of the swiftest advances of heavy arms in history. You have shown the world the skill and might of the American armed forces."

Bush said the coalition that had liberated Iraq from dictator Saddam Hussein is now working to

secure and reconstruct the country. The coalition aims to build schools and hospitals, prosecute Iraqi leaders and find weapons of mass destruction.

On edit:
this is a funny text to read, too. It's from the prominent "Heritage Foundation and dates back to 2003, too:

"Blueprint for Freedom: Limiting the Role of the United Nations in Post-War Iraq
by Nile Gardiner, Ph.D., and David B. Rivkin, Jr., Esq.
Executive Summary #1646"

4. Hitler's armies invaded Poland in September 1939 and with the
...help of the pact with Josef Stalin and the USSR, overran Poland's poorly equipped and 19th Century military in a matter of just a few weeks. Britain and France declared war against Nazi Germany right away, but did nothing to protect any of the poor and helpless European countries which German easily invaded, defeated and occupied. Germany also declared the League of Nations an impotent organization so it could realize it's military ambitions. So, the Bush strategy for Hegemony is a carbon copy of Nazi Germany's plan for European domination.

3. Perle or Wolfowitz
Said "weeks, perhaps months, certainly not years" OH, and that it would cost $2billion and that would be repaid from oil revenues, and we would be greeted as liberators and they would throw flowers and there would be dancing in the street.

Too tired of thinking about all this crap to find the links, but I'm sure someone more on top of this will show up and provide them.
