Blood Ba'ath & Beyond (Iraq) and the high approval ratings...Explained

I used to get really frustrated when people would approve of the job Bush is doing, and didn't really wait until they saw the whole story. It's a shame that the average American doesn't care. But I am taking a look at the last milestones about Bush's high approval ratings in the past and how that shimmer, that entranced the sheeple, fades into a bloody mess.

9/11 attacks - Bush got high approval ratings for talking tough. Bush then failed getting Osama bin Laden, approval ratings take a dive.

We attack Iraq - Support our troops, Americans stoked, shock and awe, and chimpy lands on carrier. Approval Ratings soar. Then it carries on and more soldiers and civilians die and rating approvals dive.

We get Saddam - Well there it is! Americans feeling dreamy now. Find out Osama doesn't equal to Saddam. Even more soldiers die, and then the torture case comes out. And the missing arsenal case comes out. Bush's approval ratings plummet.

Kerry Loses - Well Americans loved that. I don't get it but Bush's ratings again soar. But then Americans realize that the administration thinks that soldiers must fight with the army they have and not the army they want. Bush tanks.

Iraq votes - All americans show their blue fingers of freedom. Bush ratings high once again. Then many americans will find themselves screwed from layoffs, family farmers get screwed, and the poor gets REALLY screwed. The Iraqi election will have given power to the Shiites and Iraq will turn into radical Islamist theocracy.

I wonder how long this roller coaster will take before the average American realizes that every sugar coating will have nothing good underneath.

We've already shown the entire world that a 3rd world weak defenseless little nation can whomp our "superpower" military's ass.

It's pathetic. The cult leader's flock seems to have grown in recent weeks. OR, the new approval rating numbers are pure propaganda.

the highs are not as peaked as they used to be and the lows seem to be coming quicker.

I remember those bleak days when we were the 10 percenters. Those days are over. Bush's approval numbers may never be as low as we would want, and his bounces may continue to surprise us, but I'm convinced -- absent some "outside" event -- Bush's glory days are beginning to slip behind him. He'll score some victories in the years to come -- unavoidable, given the Republican numbers in the House and Senate -- but a lot of what I'm hearing these days is beginning to sound a lot like the tinny assertions of hubris.

I still retain my faith in the people to eventually recognize their own best interests. It may take some time, but I believe it will happen.
