Did the debate look as disastrous as it sounded on the radio?
Oh lord was that awful. You just know that the heckling will be the big story, especially since there was so little said tonight that was of any interest.

And man was John Kerry's closing statement dreadful. Every time I hear him, I'm reminded of Ted Baxter, the pompous anchorman character from the Mary Tyler Moore show.

1. but only Kerry and even more directly Kucinich had the balls
to say they'd vote "no" on Bush's latest Halliburton appropriation request

3. sounds pretty ballsy to me too
I missed it, how'd Kerry do? He is ignored by most everyone here or at least written off as boring.

5. I cringe every time I hear Kerry speak
Kerry just don't talk like a normal human being. Gore had a similar problem, but Kerry's is much worse. His closing statement tonight was a doozy -- one leaden cliche after another. Perhaps next time he could down a few beers first, just to loosen himself up.

10. yes, hate when that happens
i notice how he does in debates usually depends on his allergies. although he didn't do bad, but just could have done better as i have seen him do other times.

11. I thought he was awesome in the last debate
he speaks so authoritatively and confidently and you sense that it is because he is so well informed on the issues. And I think he is much better than Gore regarding speech and delivery.

2. FAUX barely addressed the shouting.
The first time I heard it, I kept hearing the name "Cheney."

4. Nah, looked great.
If dirty tricks by Rove-hired one-percenters get you down, you ought to stop paying attention to politics, 'cause it's gonna get worse till we win.

6. definetly not as solid as last debate...
The canidates seemed tired and annoyed. Their questions were jumbled, and even Dean messed up his very good line on race (which I've heard him say before).

They need some rest, and a leave from FOX.

9. That's more in line with what I observed.
This was definitely an OFF night for all of them, imo.

7. Yeah, I was working on something and little of it excited me
I liked when Kucinich said that he will definitely vote no on the huge appropriation for Iraq and that we should pull out of Iraq. I don't agree with pulling out instantly, but he phrased it in such a manner that expressed that we should not have attacked them.

I thought Kucinich's speech about having grown up in black neighborhoods was quite good. Most white guys sound like homeys when they say anything like that and it took courage for him to make that pitch.

To wrap it up, "Good night, and good news!"
