Thoughts on the candidates post-debate.

Post 'em here. I'll go first.

Mosley-Braun: I met her on several occasions, and she's a wonderful, honest woman. She came off well tonight, but not "presidential". I think she'd be an excellant cabinet-member in the next administration. I hope she is.

Edwards: Likeable. He's got a good future, but not just yet. Possible VP choice.

Kerry: Did well tonight, but skirted the direct question regarding voting for/against *'s request for more money. (As did most that were asked that question) I'd still feel good having Kerry as a president.

Kucinich: I like Dennis. A lot. I fear that he's not an attractive enough to Middle America, though. I wish that were different with all my heart. I'd also feel good voting for him in Nov '04.

Gep: meh. Been in DC too long. Talks like the rest of them. Soundbites without substance.

Dean: Became my top choice tonight. He answered every question with class. My only eye-rolling moment was the sticker that he was wearing. Yes, Howard, I support unions as well. All of the candidates do, bt you may have come off as pandering with that.

Graham: Very well done! I'll admit to not paying much attention to him in the recent past, and I regret that. That being said, I think he'd make a better VP than a president. He just doesn't have the "stuff" IMO. Still, a solid performance.

Sharpton: I like Rev Al better each time I see him. He's the best speaker of the bunch. Of course, a lifetime of preaching the gospel and hanging with James Brown will do that for you.

Let's see... Did I forget anybody?

Yes. Yes, I did.

I heard elsewhere that Kerry has flatly rejected add'l money without justification from Bush.

...of course it helps to have an opponent like Gearge Bush! Every one of them would beat the pants off Bush in a debate because this time Bush has a record to defend and it's largely indefensable.

I'm getting the impression that no one wants to go after Dean. Their going to pray that he self-destructs. I thought he was just a flash in the pan at first, and I, too, expected him to self-destruct, but my respect for Dean is growing every day. I think he's the real thing (although his closing remark was a bit lame compared to others.)

Mosley-Braun: I thought she had a lot of class and is extremley humble, yet she doesnt seem to go on the attack against bush as often as I would like her to
Edwards: Hes definetly presidential material, why some people say he should wait a few years is beyond me. He can win much of the southern vote, and take it away from bush because thats his background, hes good at pointing that out, and most importantly he really hit a chord with me when he spoke passionatly about restoring funding for education in this country, which bush has destroyed.
Kerry: To me he didnt give a straight answer as to why he voted for the Iraq war and seems to come up with a different answer each time.
Kucinich: I think hes the most sincerest of the candidates and is right on with every issue. He would do some amazing things as president, but I doubt he would ever win due the media always painting him as a radical leftist.
Gephardt: He basically said that he voted for war because he thought it would help get bush u.n approval. I dont believe that, he plays dumb on the issue, and I just hear soundbites with no substance.
Dean: He by far had the funniest line of the night when asked if he would still understand black americans, being that he comes from a very white state. He said something well I guess that makes trent lott martin luther king then. Hes very quick on his feet...When he talks, hes talking with anger, and towards the peoples anger with bush. He strikes a chord everytime by doing so, and I would definetly like to see him as president.
Graham: Probraly the smartest when it comes to foreign policy but he didnt come across as charismatic to me. Would make an excellent V.P
Sharpton: I think he's the most inspirational when speaking as well as the most truthful. I dont think he has a chance though with the negative media image that he brings along with him. He would definetly make a good cabinet member
