The Republicans are going to get more and more brazen.
As this regime gets entrenched for the second time, it has already shown that it can take on a program that is as sacred to our seniors as our flag,i.e Social Security. It is also asking Congress for an additional 70-80 billions for the War.It has already produced a budget request(more properly, demand) that is obscene in the way it guts most programs that will help children, elderly and the handicapped. It has managed to get the necessary votes for a man who calls the Geneva Conventions "quaint" and is a strong advocate of torture.

In short, its stranglehold on the levers of power have strengthened.
This reign will be with us for a long time because its methods of gaining legitimacy through Demonstration Elections ( the equivalent of stuffing the boxes) has assured that the Democrats have no chance at all in these elections. Thay are there just to provide a facade of legitimacy.Pseudo-Democrats like Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman are busy undermining our Party while many others are actively being bribed or intimidated into silence. The Press has become a caricature of itself.
They seem to be playing a part rather than seriously examining issues because the Press is now owned by the Power Brokers of the Republicans.

All of this just confirms for me ANOTHER THOUSAND YEAR REICH BEGAN ON JANUARY 20,2000.Our Constitution is now on life support.

1. Well, if it is "another Thousand Year Reich" . . .
and it lasts as long as the last one, it'll be gone in another 8 years.

3. I used the analogy to illustrate its methods but I believe that it will
last a lot longer than its predecessor because our methods are more sophisticated. It is not for nothing that the OSS sat at the feet of their Nazi teachers and learned their methods.

2. the sequel will be better than the original
bush II, the second term, will have more action, explosions, suicide car bomb chases, more families shot to death on a sunday drive, more wedding parties bombed accidently!

More billions, more casulaties on both sides, more thrills and atrocities than you can possibly imagine.

i'm scared, and i'm not the only one.

4. Here's my take: just in case the NEXT regime can't finish the job that
the * administration started (assuming we don't have martial law imposed and there is another election, sham or legit), there's less than 4 years to cram in all the items on the far right's wish list. That means destroy social security, leave a deficit and a budget crisis so massive that a dem in the White House will be irrelevant and temporary as the problem won't be readily fixed, create a permanent economic stratification that will eliminate even the illusion of a middle class category, in the name of security civil rights and liberties will be neutered, and a system ensuring control of the federal and state governments in the hands of a few elite (providing that the elite are far right or lackeys thereof).

It's sort of like an Alice-in-Wonderland, Bizarro-world, anti-New Deal plan and the * administration is acting like it's on speed.
