Stating the obvious--the most frightening aspect of
the whole Gannon/Gucket crap is the silence of the media. Reporters and news organizations were handed information on a silver platter--it shouldn't be too hard to run with that and create a story--but, they aren't.

Scary as hell. Welcome to Germany, 1933.

1. I agree. I feel the same about the recent 911 report.
Seems like the powers that be have an iron grip on the "independent" media.

2. That too...but, here's what freaked me about the Gannon story
This SHOULD sell papers...."Sex in the White House!"

The 911 report was kind of "dull" (I know...I hear what I am saying here, OK?)...this is sexy and tabloidal...exactly the type of shit that would appeal to the hard core People Magazine fanatics.

Sex=money, right?

4. Even in the Reagan years,
Our news media would talk about this, and treat it as front-page news in the 1980's. The Iran-Contra scandal was HUGE.

But this time, <..........................> (silence)

You are absolutely right. THIS SHOULD SELL. AND SELL BIG.

This blows the Lewinsky affair right out of the water. Why isn't there at least SOME mention of this?

6. Well, the media was sure interested

in Bill Clinton's sex life. My God, if a gay male prostitute with no journalistic credentials had been unearthed in the WH press corps lobbing softballs at Bill, the coverage would have been non-stop 24/7. And not just on cable, but on every network and the front page of every newspaper.

Cries for investigations, impeachment, and resignation would have started on Day 1, and by now every American would be aware of every sordid detail.

Every repuke in the House and Senate would be getting considerable face time on tv to denounce Clinton and his "immoral" administration.

This silence, more than anything I've ever experienced with this corrupt cabal, demonstrates the complete capitulation of the press.
Scary doesn't begin to describe it.
