Did anyone see the protestors screaming at Rummy on CNN?
Females on the balcony screaming You're fired Rumsfeld...How many troops did you kill today? I was shocked...they were taken away by force but yelled a lot. Hung a banner saying Bloody Hands over the railing.

4. Unbelievable. I hope they left information about their plans with
family or friends. We might not see them again.

MSNBC showing it again now!

5. National Press Corps...
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 12:45 PM by SimpleMan
It is on CNN, MSNBC, FOX.

Two women had a bloody sheet hanging from the balcony that said something like "No Blood for Oil." And they kept repeating,"Hey, Rumsfeld, whadaya say? How many children have you killed today?" It was pretty cool, actually. Rumsfeld played it off by telling us how "free" Iraq is now that it has over 100 newspapers there...bla, bla, bla...

7. Of course, now the ditto head anchors are talking about how
calmly Rumsfeld handled it...freedom of speech...blah, blah blah...just a couple of wackos, handled with aplomb by the great Rummy.

who shouted "Go Home!" from the expensive seats down front. Whatsamatter, son? Pissed because two women just showed more courage in fifteen seconds than YOU'VE managed to muster in the last three years?

19. put it in context
He said a leader of Jordan said that if 9/11 allowed us to wake up so that we could avert a worse disaster, then it would be a blessing. He was relaying the story of what the Jordanian leader said. I knew when he said it that I needed to come here immediately and see what people were going to say about it :)

As for the protestors, I thought they were great, but does everyone say that last nights' protestors in the debate were great? What makes one right and the other wrong, other than it being Rumsfeld on stage (is that all it takes to determine right/wrong for you?)

21. i searched for a link to a transcript
Because I too wanted to see the 9/11 quote in context. Couldn't find anything yet. I hope someone does post it here.

As for protestors at last night's debate vs. today's Rumsfeld "event" -- this *is* a partisan web site, you know! ;) I wouldn't be so shocked that folks here take sides and appreciate some disruptions more than others.

22. "What makes one right and the other wrong"
Nobody died because Lyndon LaRouche wasn't allowed at the debate last night. How many people have died as a direct result of Rummy's actions? That's the difference, IMO.

25. Your question made me think....I resemble some of it....
Protesting these madmen and their policies in any close proximity to them has been difficult to do...so when anyone does..I personally love it...don't know what that makes me...color me anyway you wish.

To those women who took that chance today....You go girls!

26. Right
These women are American heros. I have taken risks to protest and there is nothing harder than getting a message out through the RR media.
It takes planning and guts. I bet it took more planning to get into the press club than Rummy spent planning post-war Iraq!
These ladies are wonderful!

in a Senate Hearing:

Anyone who doesn't know her name should look her up in google. She is OUTSTANDING. Her group has been to Iraq.
