The homoerotic overtones of the Bush White House
It's classic for self loathing closet cases to enjoy militaristic themes and fantasize they are warriors and abuse whatever power and influence they have. They also make sure everyone KNOWS how much they hate "fags." You see it in a small scale with Gannonuckert and a large scale with this entire White House.

Unmistakable homoerotic overtones run through this administration. Idiot Son tries to cover up his strong fem characteristics but his entire life he has shown he is a wimp like his father, and a coward too. He would do anything he could to avoid combat but he loves to wear the macho regalia like military jackets and cowboy boots.

He looks like the Village People when he does it because he's no warrior and no cowboy. He's a fucked up imbecile with issues.

Whho knows?

"homoerotic" and having "strong fem characteristics? I think you've just insulted a lot of people on this board.

This whole "mangate" thing is really bringing out some latent homophobia in some people here. There still is a lot of educating to do.

39. Yep, insulted many
and just plain idiotic. There is weird sexuality at the * WH. I think is way too much women bashing and G/L bashing at the * WH. * likes to play dreesup and pretend he's masculine. I think that men, gay or straight, who want to prove their masculinity do this. Let's focus on the weirdness of this and the puffed up idiot in the WH. To say that's a gay or straight characteristic is just wrong and not supported by facts.

But without a doubt "Gannon" got entree (? SP) into the inner sanctum of the
White House or Repug power w/ sex. He is a prostitute and that is what "they"
do. I deduced from hearing about the repug Congressman from Va., who was looking
for gay sex and his stating that he was not into the "hardcore stuff." e.g. Bulldog
So he must have know about some people who were into being "roughed up."

10. One small point...
...I would not say "fem characteristics." Their is perhaps some truth to what you say. Being gay, I'm not offended by the discussion at all--closeted homosexuals exist in the administration and should be resolutely outed and neutralized. However, I would not their are "fem" characteristics--this is an insult.

But I think that in these cases patience and education are called for, since people's basic orientation is good here. I do, however, not at all have a problem pointing to the closeted homosexual rightists and exposing them without any apology and hesitation.

we'd bicker and become moody with each other at times, but would be less apt to "bombing and killing" our enemies at will.

What the hell is wrong with feminine characteristics? Especially those involving nurturing and protective of one's family.

24. There is a spectrum of characteristics
one end has what we call wimpiness and the other end has warrior like behavior. The only short hand words for these we have are fem and macho.

28. Then we need to change the short hand because feminine may not
exude the notion of brute strength but does NOT equate to wimpy. Don't rule out endurance and tenacity.

16. Ah . . so the "cod piece" wasn't for the females . . . . .
but a message for . . . . .

Being a female it is clear to me that we females aren't generally sexually stimulated by the same things as males.

When one of the talking heads implied that bushie's costume for his landing on the aircraft carrier would catch the eyes of women . . . I knew personally that a cod piece or a sock stuffed in his crotch did nothing for me. Perhaps as a women I'm all too familiar with stuffed bras for the appearance of bigger boobs. What you see on the outside and what is real could be two different things.

Following the cod-piece episode my gay friends had to explain the "facts of life" to me -- the reason for the existence of Playboy and/or Playgirl (male nudes). There was speculation in the gay community way back then that bush was sending out signals that they were picking up.

Now that I think back on bushie's behavior -- he is trying too hard to be masculine. And there is this current of hatred for women -- the way he tends to "talk down" to women.

He has all sorts of issues with his parents -- I don't believe he loves or even likes his mother -- I sense that he has a deep hatred for his mother. It isn't about pleasing his mother -- but rather trying to be a "real" man like his dad.

There are so many bad vibes comes from this whole dysfunctional family -- probably fetal alcohol syndrome (as has been mention before on DU) to other environmental mal adaptations from poor parenting etc.

Now there is way more coming out then I really care to know about -- but we need to get to the bottom of how this sleazy bastard Gannon was able to get so close to the Prez and how he was repeatedly called on -- and why the hell the media is covering up for this non-journalist.

And if the ONLY way the American public will pay attention is with a SEX scandal -- then so be it.

J. Edgar Hoover was gay -- and he spied on gays and probably blackmailed gays -- he was NO friend of gays. Also there have been other self loathing gays who have been no friend to gays -- rather their worst enemies. And some of women's worst enemies have been other women.

I am not a psychologist, but I have noticed in my travels that most of today's *taken over by a cult* type right wingers have no use for women in general (to clarify I mean the die hards)

And they are all power mongers so maybe it's a domination thing vs an attraction thing with them?

I don't have the answer... but gay, straight, or whatever, I just see Gannon as a pathetic whore on so many levels.

34. Interesting thread.
And so true. The people at Air America Radio have addressed this issue a few times. They mentioned Bush being gay, but I was so surprised that they seemed to focus on Cheney.

Randi Rhodes played a sound clip of Cheney talking about something, and she said, "My God, he's SO gay". She seemed to gasp out loud, and she re-played the clip. And she said he was a "repressed Gay".

The next morning, Marc Maren (on the Morning Sedition) mentioned the same thing. They were referring to Cheney as a "closet gay", and they said that a huge portion of the world's atrocities were committed by closet gays. They referred to Hitler and a few others.

I think once the Abu Ghraib scandal broke, many people started taking a really hard look at this administration. Randi Rhodes said there was a pattern which ran throughout all our detentin facilities: they were homoerotic porn.

I also wonder about: Don RumsFinished, Alberto Gonzalez (who was the mastermind behind Abu Ghraib), Scott McClellan, and of course Bush & Cheney. All repressed.

38. hypocrisy is the problem, actually.
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 03:10 PM by Lerkfish
there should be no problem with homosexuals, women or "fem characteristics" (whatever they are). I think people fixating on THAT are missing the more important point, both those who bring it up that way (who are wrong to do so in that way) and those who are appalled (rightlfully so) at it being brought up that way.
The important issue is that we have a political party (or the shanghaiied version of it) that makes its bread and butter on the resonance of homosexual intolerance on the one hand, and continues to either market in, or market in the exploitation of, homosexuality.
I think its absolutely appropriate, in this situation, to point out their apparent closet homosexuality, but because of the CLOSET.
Keep in mind, they pushed the marriage amendment hot button, taking ADVANTAGE of their voting bloc's outright fear and loathing of homosexuality. If they are involved, in ANY way, of preferential treatment for gay prostitutes for whatever purpose, this should be used against them....not because of homosexuality, but because they intentionally and maliciously used "hatred of fags" (to use their own term) like a bludgeon against the electorate, and they should be held to task and be caused to suffer under that same hatred themselves when they prove hypocritical.

IMHO.
