I am so down
after today, I am going to obtain a visa. To be honest I don't believe we can fight this corrupt WH group anymore. After I went surfing today on the internet today, Karl Rove and his groupies have hold on everyone, they are sucking the life out of everyone just like Hitler.

1. Sorry you're down, I'm up due to MSM coverage of WHbs
Finally it looks like something might break the right way. The WH/bushites are going to be looking stupid and hopefully lose support of their base, the rightwinggodfearingcommonfolk and if we're lucky (doubt but you never know) we might get a chance to dump Mr.bush or at least have his repubs looking askance at him. However, EVERYONE should have a passport. Always. And donate to the ACLU. So, I'm sorry you're feeling down. Take a break and come back in an hour, or day, or wk, or month. We'll always be glad to have you back and everyone also needs breaks sometimes.

2. I feel that way sometimes
But I have family here that I can't leave. So I try to look at things from a distance and tell myself this the path the US is on and it's just going to have to play itself out.

4. You may be weak...
But we are not - we are DUers!

The health and welfare of not only our nation but our world is in jeopardy.

We have to fight or we all will die...

The strong will fight... soon the weak will fight as well.

6. Good people like you are what we all need, we all have thought about
quitting and leaving. If you have to ,okay. Tomorrow will come and at least one good thing can usually be found and then the same the next day. spending to much time reading about Bush and Rove tends to run me down too. I just keep hoping Dean will light the way and we will overcome this nightmare.

8. I keep trying to be up but after today and the
shrub with his selection....... I don't know anymore, I just don't. This is my country, I don't want to leave it, and I don't know if I can afford it, maybe just leave everything and go. There is never anything positive coming from the news. The news is not the Dems. but all comes from the WH. They keep screwing the middle american people and I am tired of it.

13. We are facing one of the darkest times in modern history,
but even with what happened to the jews people survived to tell about it. We have to be here to fight this and change it. It is exhausting when the fight is this hard.

Its important that you take time off now. Come back for support but don't think that things are going to get worse if you do.

I often think of what life would be like in Vancouver, Sweden and Denmark. I think of sending my oldest son there if we have a draft. I even plan financially how to do this. Still need the passport. I've been planning for my other sons medical needs for awhile now. He has type 1 diabetes, and I find myself feeling like at least he can't be drafted as though that were consolation.

Even with that I know I have to walk away from stressful depressing things for a time and not feel guilt for it.

But If you need to leave thats okay too. Many are.

a wall. They can't get away with forever and i'd like to think that the bigger they are the harder they will indeed fall and i don't want to miss a second of it. the day will come, maybe not tomorrow or even next year but it will happen.

11. If you can, take a break from the news to setting your emotions.
If you're too depressed, you won't be good for anything. :)

I just feel the goal of the WH is to suck the life out of everyone. Hitler would be so happy today.

18. You need a break...
...take a walk in a tree lined place, turn the news to music instead, get involved with people, school, hospital etc whose immediate lives demand attention, and gratefulness for small things.

This world is a big, beautiful, amazing place, with beautiful people in it. Bush DOES NOT control it all! And the "banana peels" are causing the mighty to slip-slide all over the place right now.

I find my own peace in prayer, in church, especially in Lent right now, and as others have said, in a sense of history that gives the present age some sort of context.

Energy comes flooding back when you get out of doors, walk in the bracing wind, especially among trees or by some water, smile at the people you see, be gentle with them out of love for what you see--God's Love is stronger than all the hate and evil in the world, and He literally blows life back into us. Oh, and a hot salt bath, followed by a good night's sleep, helps everything look better in the morning.

God bless.

Oh, and remember how Hitler ended up.

(Loved "Ted Hitler" on the "Daily Show"--helps to laugh!)

15. Stop reading the news!
My first post - I've lurked for probably a year now. When Kerry lost, I got soooooooooo depressed. I mean, what a low point in my life. I just stopped watching news altogether.

Focus on something like a hobby. I like going for walks, window-shopping, breathing the air, etc.

I do think the tide is changing. Also, try listening to some of your favorite music.

16. I was very close to leaving myself
I am fortunate enough to have somewhere I could go... but I realized I had been effected by the same propaganda and selfishness the freepers had.

This isn't about ME getting away... or my family. This is about America. I do love this country, its multi-culturalism, its freedom. I've lived abroad... nothing compared to the best of America, when it has its chance.

America needs US. This is a fight for the future of this nation, and by default, the world. You know what is at stake.

The blogs have become more influential and powerful than anyone predicted, and in a time-frame so short as to be incredible. We've lost the early battles; Ohio, Rice... but we've just had our first full fledged victory! Gannon the Man-Date is history, and the White House press corps has been freed from an oppressive shill! It's a good day.

We now have the power to push the press to follow stories of real importance, and to force connections between ideas Bush wants separate. DU, Daily Kos, it's working. Bush's shadier supporter are very afraid of the light of day, and the more exposure associating with him threatens, the more his true power will evaporate.

I may not be able to do the big work, like TruthIsAll or WilliamPitt, but I support however I can, money, a protest or two and letter here or there. You're needed too - we all are. This is our country and we need to defend it.

Besides, there's really no where safe from them if they succeed here.

25. People usually get lonesome for America..Culture shock...
Have you ever seen the rows right behind the defendant's table in a horrific criminal trial. It could be a terrible child rape murder but there they are, giving support and crying at the details and sentencing. "I guess he just went crazy...He was always a good daddy...I still don't want to believe it...I remember the way he used to be...He just went crazy." Maybe we are going down a hole. I want to be here for the kids. If you leave, keep voting. Local elections too. Every one. And please write. People get lonely for what they know.
