2. who cares...we need to quit wasting time on this guy
if someone can locate some "beef"...then we can talk about it, otherwise, this story is going no where except continuing to propel the characterization that all left wing dems are conspiracy theorists....if the guy is gay. so what...if he ran an escort service..so what...we haven't proved he was a white house plant in the media..we haven't proved any connection to the white house at all...all we are talking about is his sex life...like Bill Clinton..who cares???

3. "Jeff Gannon" wrote that John Kerry would be the first gay
president.

The 2004 Bush campaign played off fear of gays.

It's the hypocrisy.

4. I care. This is about hypocrisy and the story is young.
The MSM is just catching up. Besides the Right cared a whole lot about Bill Clintons sex life...enough to get him impeached.

5. I respect your opinion
However, it is my opinion we are on to something. Guckert is threatening to sue. I believe it's being used as a scare tactic cause we're getting close to something.

6. This quote from your link says it all:
What The Correction would like to know is how you sue someone for telling the truth over information found in the public domain? It wasn't Media Matters or Americablog who originally posted your services as a male escort and it wasn't Media Matters or Americablog that lied about having posted images to a porn site. It seems if he does indeed sue, it would be one of those frivolous lawsuits the right is so against.

7. The connection to the White House
is that he was in the White House without any apparent reason.

He got clearance to ask softball questions, with no journalism experience, with a fake name, a fake "news" outlet, and a sordid past/present. How and why, and from whom?

He was in close enough to know details about Plame and Iraq before they were published anywhere.

There's definitely a connection to the White House.

20. I've often said, in response to rightwingers complaints about Clinton
and his affair, that I'd be willing to pay somebody to give the Chimp a bj if it'd make him half as smart as Clinton. Maybe somebody did. (But if so, it didn't improve his intelligence, obviously.)

22. Yes, there is a connection to the WH (Andy Card!)
Someone called into the Rhandi Rhodes show last week and said she was reading a message on www.therhandirhodesshow.com by KyndCulture. Apparently KyndCulture is an active blogger and researched the hell out of this case (Gannon).

She found out there was indeed a link to the WH and that link is Andy Card.

Sorry I don't have the link on this.

18. If you were getting paid by an organization
that said you shouldn't exist in America, that you had no rights, that people like you were a scourge on our nation, that people like you caused 911, then you would be called a hypocrite as well.

9. You obviously miss the point of this. It's a security issue. How did he
get clearance? How did he get the scoops before other journalists? Stop focusing on the sex aspects and start paying attention to the important stuff. By the way, prostitution is illegal.

12. It is not a waste of time....to the contrary...
Investigating this man Gannon/Guckert is vital to National Security.
It is also vital to find out why recognized and experienced journalists have been refused Press Passes when a man with no journalistic training and very little experience and who worked for an organization that was ONLY 96 DAYS OLD, was permitted to not only attend such press conferences but also to question Bush, when even seasoned, long-term journalists had never been called on? This is PAID PROPAGANDA and as such it is ILLEGAL!

‘Liberal’ Media Silent About Guckert Saga

by Joe Conason

<snip>
Proof that "the liberal media" is but a figment of right-wing mythology has now arrived in the person of one James Guckert, formerly known as Jeff Gannon. Were the American media truly liberal—or merely unafraid to be called liberal—the saga of Mr. Guckert’s short, strange, quasi-journalistic career would be resounding across the airwaves.
<snip>
The intrinsic media interest of the Guckert/Gannon story should be obvious to anyone who has followed his tale, which touches on hot topics from the homosexual underground and the investigation into the outing of C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame to the political power of the Internet. But our supposedly liberal media becomes quite squeamish when reporting anything that might humiliate the Bush White House and the Republican Party.

<snip>

What Mr. Guckert seems to have been is not a journalist but a Republican dirty trickster. He was schooled at the Leadership Institute—an outfit run by veteran right-wing operative and Republican National Committee member Morton Blackwell. (It was Mr. Blackwell who distributed those cute "purple heart" Band-aids mocking Mr. Kerry’s war wounds at the Republican convention last summer.) His former employers at Talon News include leading Republican fund-raisers and former officials of the Texas Republican Party who have been active in partisan affairs for the past two decades.
<snip>
How did this character obtain a coveted place in the White House? What did the White House press staff know about him? How does his story fit within the larger scandal of payola punditry, with federal funds subsidizing Republican propagandists in the press corps? Did someone in the Bush administration give him a classified document?

<snip>

Imagine the media explosion if a male escort had been discovered operating as a correspondent in the Clinton White House. Imagine that he was paid by an outfit owned by Arkansas Democrats and had been trained in journalism by James Carville. Imagine that this gentleman had been cultivated and called upon by Mike McCurry or Joe Lockhart—or by President Clinton himself. Imagine that this "journalist" had smeared a Republican Presidential candidate and had previously claimed access to classified documents in a national-security scandal.

<snip>
Then imagine the constant screaming on radio, on television, on Capitol Hill, in the Washington press corps—and listen to the placid mumbling of the "liberal" media now.

21. Sorry, this 'pimp/prostitute' had unprecedented access to the white house
on numerous occasions. Therein "lies" the story ~ no pun intended.

As for Clinton's sex life, millions of my tax dollars were spent investigating consensual adult sex with nothing else attached. People apparently "cared." Every sordid detail was splashed across every news paper, station etc.

No one "cares" when Republicans are less than savory however, that would be correct.
