2. No evidence to tell either way
In Chechnya, the press, at least those who bothered to cover the conflict, complained about the Russians inflating the number of rebels killed, while the rebels inflated the number of federal soldiers killed.

3. Taking out 4 Abrams Tanks is not credible.....
I'd have to look for stats on Abrams kills... but I've only heard of a few... and they may have been M1 A1s as opposed to the newer M1 A2s.

6. That Is True, Sir
But this sounds made up of whole cloth. the other side, you know, must keep its supporters' spirits up too, and lies and propagandizes to that purpose as well....

5. It's the report of the Iraqi resistance,

and I expect they're given to hyperbole, as much as the occupiers.

Here's the site Rense quotes:

9. Rense is a kook. However one never knows, eventually this sort of...
...thing will happen, is this story true?

I doubt it, but like I said: This sort of thing will happen eventually.

12. Rense is sensationalist at times
Rense attracts a lot of curiousity-seeking. I check it out a lot.

I wouldn't consider it yellow-journalism. There are some deadly firepower being used, I have a gut feeling this would come sooner or later, I mean, if you can buy your basic RPG rounds for a few bucks on the black market over there. The newer missiles the Iraqi resistance appear to have gotten their hands on, I think they have hit US and Brit aircraft, their version of what the Taliban were able to inflict against Soviet aircraft in Afghanistan, the Stingers, ect.

Would we miss a column of GIs getting wiped-out? Good question. Happened in Viet Nam on a regular basis, I'm sure. Look at the average KIAs in SE Asia, maybe 5 per day overall spread out over 11 years (1964-75), I don't have the variances to compare, that would take a lot of work, but we haven't been able to smooth out Iraq averages much, maybe 1 a day or 2-3 on a bad day. Assuming the news is being accurate.

We haven't won the war over there, column or no column gone. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, we haven't even gone into the tunnel. There will probably be provacations like Gulf of Tonkin ruse to get us to support this madness. That will be Bush's legacy.
