GOP Senators want East. Washington as seperate state
If this were to happen I would be even more excited about moving to Seattle!! I totally agree with this, no more free rides or assistance to people who don't work and hate humanity see how long they last without the liberals they claim to hate so much.

By RACHEL LA CORTE, Associated Press Writer

OLYMPIA, Wash. - If Washington state Sen. Bob Morton has his way, he'll soon be a resident and lawmaker in the 51st state of the United States.

The Republican is the prime sponsor of a measure that asks for a new state to be created east of the Cascade Mountains, using 20 of the current state's 39 counties.

Though the measure has little chance of becoming a reality, it's a further sign of frustration between Washington's east and west that became more apparent during the recent contested governor's race.

Morton argues that Eastern Washington has its own distinct culture, lifestyle and agriculture-driven economy. And he says growth development restrictions and other regulations imposed by Western Washington politicians and bureaucrats put a stranglehold on his area.

1. Sounds a lot like the pre-Civil War days...
Don't like the balance of power? Create another state!

7. In that area...
... it's much more than apples. In the north and midsection, it's mostly wheat, with the smallish farms totalling 15,000 acres or so. In the south and southeast, it's everything you can think of--vinyards, hops, etc. And control of the Columbia River....

4. Thats fine.
Every city with a population above 100k in the US should be its own state. At 123k I'm from the State of New Haven. Feel free to have your eastern Washington. You want to play ball we'll play ball and you'll lose. Fucking repukes.

5. Wah wah wah
The pugs in this state have gotten on my last nerve between this and all of the Rossi crap. Cry me a freaking river. :nopity: You know, I'd actually be in favor of this as long as DC got it's statehood at the same time to balance out the red state that would result of this. In fact, I think that they should take Eastern Oregon along with them and make a brand new red state full of rednecks and white supremacists. Let them see how they enjoy life without our tax money and water.

6. You see, the thing is, Sen. Morton is a fucking moron...
but if he wants to see a new state that yields even less revenue than North Dakota, then more power to him.

Eastern Washington is a cess pool. It's a desert. Its major cash crop is crystal meth and single mothers.

Sen. Morton and Eastern Washington can fuck off.

10. Wrong state
This won't help matters.

Now, if some of the areas surrounding cities in red states would separate, maybe this would make a difference. This might allow for Democratic Senators in such areas, and reduce the red state electoral vote.
