Are we too far down the road of fascism to stop it.
Mussolini described it best. The wedding of the State with the corporation. And I'll add the church. Living in a red state, I've noticed a lot of people can't hear a reasoned argument or comprehend a simple fact. They honestly believe God is on Bush's side. It's as if half the population has been brown-shirted.

The media is lazy and complicit. And thats the good half. The others are out right enablers. Corruption is rampant in all areas of gov't.

The elections are rigged, so how do we vote them out of office? Is it unstoppable?

The only thing that saved Europe from fascism was it's outright destruction. I don't want to see that happen here, but the way things are going, I'm getting scared.

1. looks like it
The USA is a fascist country now, but it operates under the myth of a free democracy. Think Animal Farm.. pigs (corporate) and sheeple.

2. I'm beginning to wonder
When certain meds came out, I read TALKING TO PROZAC and it seemed to explain why no connection was possible with some people in many circumstances.

When discussing matters today, the same feeling occurs...futility.

6. I have the same feeling.
These people have, as another poster put it, antibodies in their brains that make them immune to facts. I'm hoping it just seems that way and that actually some of them are waking up, but sometimes, I just don't know.

And I know you're not saying that everybody is on Prozac, but a LOT of people are... do you think that's part of the problem? The actual medication? Or are people just getting to be that way "naturally"? Hey ... I remember seeing an article about how many drugs make their way into our water supply ... maybe they really ARE on Prozac! Whoa ... I just blew my own mind!

16. That is what needs to be understood! We are inter-connected on every level
Poison the air, water, land, poisons all the living beings. Killing people for oil, people all over the world feel that horror and suffering. I think part of depression is a natural human state, that keeps us striving for meaning, purpose and the ability to contribute, part of it is chemical, but the majority of people are on drugs for the wrong reasons: because doctors throw them at any symptom without looking deeper, people ignore what their body is telling them and eat a very unhealthy diet, and media paints an impossible picture of what life should look like.

When the actual awareness comes to light, that you cannot harm without being harmed back, it will be a much more sane world. The big questions have to be asked...about everything. What impact are my actions having? In my life and in the life of every person, and the chain of events. consider a plant based diet, adopt an animal or a child if you can afford the care and the expense. Research everything you purchase and stop buying products that support cruelty of any kind. All of these, may sound obvious or simple, but just these few ideas could impact world hunger, violence and war. Most of all, be kind with yourself and know how much your bring to the world just by the fact that you are asking these questions and care deeply about the well-being of others.

3. Yes
I'm beginning to think we are. The only thing that may stop our government will be the rest of the world saying "enough". I know it sounds terribly pessimistic - I don't have much faith in "we the people" anymore, especially if sufficient election reform doesn't happen.

7. I'll be giving a speech next month
And I think I'll do something on that line. I should be elected as President of a Democratic Club on Sat., and we'll have a dinner and dance fundraiser along with the insallation of officers.

I know there will be at least one Congressman, and possibly a Senator in attendance. It should start some people talking.

8. The world is polarized, that is why such extreme views. Eventually, violen
ce and dominance, greed and war, will end...may not be for awhile, or it could happen quickly. There are millions of people all over the world, good, intelligent, compassionate people, ultimately this will become a larger, more powerful morphic field than the murderous field, it will become unacceptable to the world...Live each day in a manner that aligns with what you believe to be true, as much as possible. Be kind to yourself and others. The patriarchy, and the fascist economic system are coming down, and the new way of living is in process, lets build it sustainable and beautiful...it is possible. Do not give up under any circumstances.

14. I agree, the next year or so will tell a lot
If they pass Patriot Act 3, or we have another 9-11 I am really afraid we'll turn that corner, past the point of no return (without a revolution or another civil war).

Christians have won and we can only hope nations will have pity on us and liberate us.

Check out John Titor. He claims to be a time traveler but his tale is similiar to what we are living now.

11. When the Chimp was recoronated,
all I could think was it's bad now, I guess it's gonna
have to get really, really, really bad before people
wake up.

I'm talking blood in the streets bad. People dying, power
outages, no food in the stores, no gasoline, our money
worthless.

That's what it's going to take to loosen the chokehold these
people have on this country.

15. It gets worse, Doc.:
The apalling thing about fascism, is that one has to use its very methods in order to defeat it. Fascism is a disease of the mind ... and quite often an inoculation is a small amount of the disease itself.

Like it or not, a time will come when "We the people,"are going to have to *take* our government back.

18. Unfortunately, I agree
I know the Dixiecrats in our party aren't going to be very happy with me. But, I think you gotta call 'em like you see 'em.

Bush's attitude in Europe, and Scott Ritter talking about invasion plans for Iran in June are truly frightening.

17. PNAC Credo?
"Fascism, the more it considers and observes the future and the development of humanity, quite apart from political considerations of the moment, believes neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace."

22. I expect
the rest of the worlds weapons are set to hit us the moment Shrub (or the neo-con equivilent) announces martial law and suspension of elections after the 2007 LIHOP/MIHOP attack. One way or another I don't think we'll have to wait long.
