Do you ever go "overboard" at work? For example...

...I have gone on two trips with collegues and they brought up "current events and politics" like 50 - 100 miles away from our return destination and I didn't shut up or take a breath until we walked through the door.

Information upon information, spouting out of my mouth.

I cannot contain it once they get me started.

I try to stop, but I cannot.

They seem to be receptive, but I can't help but think they want me to shut up. Then they ask another question, and it starts all over again.

None of the them voted for Bush, but the stuff I'm telling them, they've never heard of or really considered, so it may be too much for them to handle or care about knowing.

...because I spout out so much at one time, and I feel like they are just trying to be nice even if they really want me to shut up. They ask more questions about peak oil, and more questions about PNAC, but when I try to shut up, I cannot, lol.

They don't disagree with me, but I don't want to be "abrasive". I think it is possbile to say "too much."

but I work in a fairly liberal office, so they usually just egg me on.

If they start, I'll finish it. Someone at work made a crack about the "liberal media" today and I went on 15 minutes about Gannon and Armstrong Williams. The gay prostitute angle really works wonders on the fundies.

when I get heated up. My family knows I am passionate about our political climate. I even have my young nieces calling me and telling me about Bush's latest fiasco because they know I'm interested. But at work, I try to zip it.

I've had to realize that most of the population is just not passionate about their politics, or if they are, most of them are the right wing-nuts. In my opinion, it's the major problem with our scenario. Even my buddies that were initially incensed that the '04 election was stolen, have now just lost interest. Like it or not, most people are so mired down in their own personal problems, they can't see the forest for the trees.
That's why I'm so glad I found you people! I can hold forth with abandon!

with me lately, its been Wal-Mart. I've been trying to get my coworkers to stop shopping there, citing the good the local merchants do, how WE wouldn't have a job if we didn't have local folks hiring our services. They think I'm nuts, but I keep on about it.
