Nine Inch Nails Releasing Anti-Bush Video

Someone posted this bit of info on a NIN related bulletin board. I thought that some NIN fans might be interested since this is pretty much the first political song I've ever heard from the group. From what they're saying this is the same person who made the Mosh music video for Eminem.


"Storyline: While I don’t know the entire storyline I was able to piece the following together.

A conservative Bush supporter (middle age white male) has an affair with a younger woman. She gets pregnant and is forced to have an abortion. When she arrives at the abortion clinic she is forced to walk through a crowd of anti-abortion protestors. I’m not 100% but I think the wife of the bush supporter is in the crowd and splashes blood on her or something.
Other images/storylines in the video involve the following:

-A young man watches a Bush speech on tv. A picture of him in a military uniform sits next to the tv. He shakes his head at what bush is saying and reaches to turn off the tv. That’s when its revealed that his arm is missing (he has a prosthetic). Apparently he was injured while in Iraq and forgotten about by Bush.

- The wife of the bush supporter watches the bush inauguration with her husband cheering on like it’s a football game.

- The wife of the bush supporter gives her uninterested husband a lap dance in a confederate flag bikini.

- A working professional is blackmailed by men who have revealing photos of him (I’m not sure if this is the bush supporter and the photos are of his affair but it seems like a good guess).

I tried to write some of the lyrics I could make out. Heres what I got:

I would say that these lyrics are about 70% accurate and I’m missing a few verses. It was hard to focus too much as I had lots of work to do and was very tired.

The audio from the teaser is not THTF. They do have the same buildup at the start. THTF starts very quietly before TR explodes on the vocals.
I'll do my best: The song is very upbeat. By this I mean its not slow (“fragile”) or super aggressive (“starfuckers”) THTF lies somewhere in the middle. Like I said before the beat got me hooked instantly and it took all of my willpower to restrain myself from moshing all over the set.

It has the drum beat of “Happiness in Slavery’ with the moody synth of “Ringfinger”. I would classify the guitars rhythm as a mix between “Data” from Quake “The Big Come Down” and “Please” but I’m sure once everyone hears the song again I will be proven wrong. But that’s what I’m remembering…"

I'm personally just going to wait until it's released but some people have downloaded the leaks. There are mixed opinions about them, though.
