She's already said as much.
And again, as much as I love Barbara, she's my senator, 2008 is not the year for us to try to put up a woman candidate. We're going to have enough baggage as it is.

Seriously, how many of the 'top contenders' haven't sold out on one or more *major* issues? How many of them don't make you ashamed to be a democrat? Off hand, i can't think of any body else with a realistic chance who fits that bill.

he became a high profile character starting now. If he is interested he could pull it off. But he would have to get out there and let people know what he stands for over the next few years.

Sorry, but I can't take another several years of this facism. Were gonna see a safe white moderate southern fella with stong family valuez ... and, so long as he's a solid democrat, I've not got a problem with that. ;)

I would definately support her if she ran, but I doubt she will.

12. I said yes, but one word of caution.
She is 63 and would be sixty five if she became President. Then if she did two terms she would be 73 when she left office. Now, I'm not saying BB couldn't do it. I am just thinking though now that I am 65, I don't think I could keep up the pace. However, I couldn't really keep up the pace she does right now as Senator so maybe she can.

20. america is not ready for a woman president, especially a liberal
first we have to win office, then we can set the agenda for the rest of the nation. you want to lay the groundwork for a woman/ultra liberal presidency, first you need 16 years of bayh/edwards.

america is a conservative nation right now, we won't get anywhere by running to the extreme left.

I want to win! sure kucinich, dean, sharpton, clark, boxer etc are great guys, but do you really think America is ready for it?

evan bayh and john edwards are our best chances for 08, they can win. I hope they'll have your vote.

baby steps, you want to move the party leftward, you can't do it in one leap. Bush to Boxer? doesn't work that way.

may be right, however, she won her Senate seat in the last election in spite of a lot of evidence that there is illegal voting tampering going on even in California that is favoring the GOPirates.

Oh, come on. :eyes:

He got in the race too late and the corporte media whores ignored him, but he still beat Edwards in five of the nine races in which both participated - so I'm thinking at least part of your premise is wrong.

I like how you say he beat edwards in 5 of the 9 races they participated in together? BS! That's clarkie talk. Edwards beat Clark in SC, Florida, Michigan, Maine, Missouri, tennessee, delaware, washington, virginia and more. sounds like lies and sour grapes.

clark supporters need a wakeup call, outside of DU nobody cares about this guy, even within the party. he hever had a shot

edwards had 534 delegates, how many did clark get? people were still voting for edwards after he dropped out!

this country is still a couple generations away from electing a female president, from either party.

this may be hard to believe, but i garan-dam-tee you there are men, and woman, DUers that would withhold a vote for a female president.

the repukes capitalize off their voting records... they can twist it to appear however they want! We need someone who embodies all those cliches: "a "washington outsider," a "moderate," someone with "charisma." I know it ain't ideal, but its the only way to go at this point!
