From the book: "The Mind Of Adolf Hitler"
"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong;people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."

==================================================================

The above was written by Dr. Walter C. Langer, a top-secret study, written in 1943 for the Office of Strategic Services.

5. Wholly frightening.
Anyone who doesn't believe we're living in an increasingly fascist state has his head in the sand.

6. I knew of that OSS study,
but I had never read it ... until now. Thanks for the reminder, as well as for picking out the portion most relevant to our present times. I was able to Google it to the complete text at this site: http://www.nizkor.org/ftp.cgi/people/h/hitler.adolf/oss-papers/text/oss-profile-03-02

I'll download it and stuff it into my PDA later on.

7. Actually, the "Big Lie" was Josef Goebbels'idea.
If you repeat a lie loudly and persistantly, people will begin to believe it.

8. HITLER on THE BIG LIE:

"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, because the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad.

The primative simplicity of their minds renders them more easy victims of a big lie than a small one, because they often tell little lies but would be ashamed to tell big ones.

Such a form of lying would never enter their heads. They never would credit others with the possibility of such great impudence as the complete reversal of facts.

Even explanations would long leave them in doubt and hesitation, and any trifling reason would dispose them to accept a thing as true.

Something therefore always remains and sticks from the most impudent of lies, which all bodies and individuals concerned in the art of lying in this world know all too well, and therefore they stop at nothing to achieve this end."
Adolph Hitler in "Mein Kampf".

12. Hitler did exactly what he set out to do in "Mein Kampf".
If the allies had read it and taken it seriously, history could have been different. Why aren't we acting on the lessons we are getting now?

15. The really creepy thing is that only two heads of state have ever
manifested these traits. Think about that for a second. In 6,000 years of civilization on this great big globe, Hitler and Bush are the only two national leaders who have ever manifested anything even resembling this kind of behavior. And yet there are still so many people -- sometimes even here on DU -- who view this as mere coincidence or dismiss it entirely. Here are some more spine-chilling parallels:

Only two nations in recorded history have ever waged agressive war on weaker neighbors: Hitler's Germany in Europe and Bush's America in Iraq (also America aggressively invaded Mexico).

Only two heads of state can be documented as having consistently lied to their people: Adolf Hitler and George W. Bush.

Only two governments have arbitrarily chilled, suppressed or crushed domestic dissent: Nazi Germany in 1932-45 and Bush's America in 2001-present.

Only two nations have had a press that was controlled by the government and reported only what the government wanted it to say: Nazi Germany in 1932-45 and Bush's America in 2001-present.

Only two governments have worked hand-in-hand with big business to plunder the people: Nazi Germany in 1932-45 and Bush's America in 2001-present.

This next one is extremely sinister. Only two nations have ever established concentration camps: Nazi Germany in 1932-45 and Bush's America in 2001-present (also America concentration-camped the Japanese during WWII).

In light of these facts I don't see how any informed and knowledgeable person could continue to deny that there is an terrifyingly uncanny equivalence between Hitler-Bush and Germany-America that is unequalled in the annals of history.
