Gannongate: What's the Bush gang's leverage over the media?

This massive lack of media coverage of a sex-drenched political, media and national-security scandal is not ACCIDENTAL. The White House is making sure it gets hardly any coverage. What rewards/threats are they using?

Why, don't you know that since things 'changed' after 9/11, that it's no longer appropriate to question our leaders? Didn't you get the memo?

I think it said something about them needing more power.

in this country is rotten with paid off ho's like Armstrong Williams. Gannon is a pretty interesting story, not that hard to investigate since so much evidence is online already (archived/cached albeit), and even has a salacious sexy angle, unrelated to the story's true significance, to help sell it.

So yes, the silence is deafening. And when big media covers it, they seem almost determined to shy away from the true issues of the story.

It really makes me wonder if we have ANY real media anymore.

and they look like they lost their last semblance of credibility.

They're threatening the "nuclear option" on this one. Who knows what they'll do? (besides implode on their own power) :)
