1. In case of rapture...can I have your car?
That's a great come-back bumpersticker. You can probably pick it up at evolvefish.com

19. Not good; it reinforces idea of non-believers as being immoral,
Edited on Sun Feb-27-05 04:47 PM by KnowerOfLogic
i.e., the type of person who would steal an unattended vehicle. Would be better to say, "When the rapture happens, can i have your car?"

5. LOL! You got that right
Anything would be better than putting up with these idiots! Let God sort put up with them! You know, it's pretty presumptious of them to assume they would go in the event of the so-called Rapture.

9. If it happens, it's win-win
If they're right, we're rid of them. No more sanctimoniously vicious twits getting in our faces sending us to hell, no more censorship of books, music, film, cartoons, or harmless human behavior.

If we're right, we get Raptured past all the dumb looks on their piggy little faces and they're left here to clean up after themselves.

20. From what I understand about The Rapture and Fundamentalism
I don't think he'll joining them. I think you have to be a Born-Again Believer. Bush is a Knee-Crawling Panderer. If he does stay here with us well, let's just say: I got some real tough questions I want answered.

44. I plan to go in the rapture
(nope, not EVEN going to fuss about it - it is MY belief)... so FOR SURE when the Shrub (DEFINITELY) gets left here with you who want to remain... you have a real chance to carry out all those "dreams" you have been having since 2000. Ha ha ha.

3. Take their licenses away
I think we should call these people on their beliefs.
If in fact they believe they will be "raptured" up to heaven, they owe it to us not to operate machinery, or be in any situation where their "rapture" will affect others not so blessed.
It seems perfectly sane to me to introduce legislation that forces these people to register. Maybe their churches could start to support them so they could just stay at home and wait.
A religious belief that you can not take seriously is no belief at all.

6. That's not a bad idea...
After all, if your religion requires the belief that you will suddenly not be there at the wheel of a ton of metal, then perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to control it.

Of course, the sheer unmitigated egos who think they are 'worthy' is proof that they aren't, so there really isn't any danger...

Of course, the fact that they've misread/misinterpeted thier own holy book means that they aren't going to be raptured before the tribulation, and they aren't worthy of being raptured anyway.

It's a form letter to be sent to your nonbeliever friends with a heartfelt Christian post-rapture message; "Nyaa, nyaa, nya-nyah nyaa!"

12. ROFL. That was great. I hope I get 3 or 4 of them one day.
But, the thought occurred, what happens if the person who is supposed to "re-set" that switch is in a car accident one morning and dies? Do the letter go out without the rapture? Oops....:)

I'd love it if the "reset-feature" it talked about malfunctioned somehow, and those letters started going out without any rapture taking place. Talk about embarrassing! Oops!

bumper sticker, seen in Newton Massachusetts earlier this winter:

JESUS TO BUSH:
QUIT USING ME AS A REFERENCE!!!

Wish I had one of these.

17. protest sign
when Bush was in Detroit a while back with the Congressional Black Caucus, I had made a sign that said "Dear Bush, Stop Using My Name In Vain" -God

or something to that effect... that's as close as I can get to a bumper sticker for ya :-)

I've seen hundreds of the idiotic fundy bumperstickeers. Just once, before they all rapture away, I want to see something genuinely and inarguably clever on the ass-end of their cars.

I like "Come the rapture, I got dibs on your car!" The thing is, if the Rapture were to happen, I feel that many of the fundies would STILL be with us!!! We don't want them, you think Jesus does?! Think of the things they have and do in His name. I bet He is one unhappy camper! I think if a Rapture were to happen, there would be MANY disappointed people!

30. Question
Edited on Sun Feb-27-05 08:28 PM by independentchristian
Is "fundy" the equivalent of "homo" in terms of an insult on this board or is one allowed and the other not allowed, a real display of hypocrisy?

33. No
"Homo" is a republican attack on a liberal gay person. Republican call conservative gay people "journalists". Fundies are just conservative hypocrites that choose to cherry pick bible scripture to support gay bashing. Simple.

37. A few bumper stickers ideas, and a thought.
THE RAPTURE'S ALREADY HAPPENED
Now aren't you a bit pissed?

THE RAPTURE'S ALREADY HAPPENED
And we're here stuck with Bush.

I guess that same thought would be something to disarm a fundie about said rapture. Ask them if they KNOW for a fact it hasn't already happened and God found no one worthy at all?
