Should a "retirement" organization shilling for the GOP be tax exempt?

Hey, idiots. AARP's chairman is Peter Novelli, a former aide to Newt Gingrich who bamboozled the membership by throwing AARP's weight behind support for the Medicare prescription sham. The only reason AARP is taking a low-profile anti-SS privatization approach is they don't want members to leave en masse, which could upset their true raison d'etre as life insurance potentate.

It's a GOP plan to play "victim" again and destroy the AARP or force the AARP to the political right in the the process.

the definition for a tax exempt group needs to be severely restricted

right now, these groups state that their purpose is to educate not take official positions, but we all know that's garbage

Who in the Congress we have now is going to try to change things so USANext doesn't steal from the taxpayers. (Ironic that they're charging AARP with doing the same thing. I doubt their goal is to make all nonprofits pay taxes! Or is it?)
