Eat At Rummy's But Watch That Tab!
The cost of these military misadventures mounts. I suggest American start paying attention to the prices on the menu or this little date may end very badly. We are running a record deficit and we do not even get what that means. Right wingers insist on bombing the shit out of other nations while demanding tax cuts.

What the hell is wrong here?

Do these folks really want to pass on the bill to their children and grandchildren? Why do we as a nation not have a clue about the costs we generate? Who Is not doing their job or do they REALLY just not care?

Here's the latest on the cost of Iraq:

1. They want Government dead dead dead. They want their kids
to succor and the 'noblesse oblige' of the corporations & the elite.

It was called the Night Watchman State in the 1800s.

"2:50 PM & All Is Well" (while children sleep with hungry bellies)

2. What I Do Not Get Is How In The Hell They Still Hold Onto Power!
I see it. You see it. Many DUers see it.

What do we get that much of America is missing? Why are they missing it. It is not like these guys are subtle!

3. The Bush WH changed the hearts & minds of many of their followers.
KR played into the well known psychic tricks sociopaths are good at. If he reframed everything into a war (America - will we survive or not) how could these people say no to that. He encourages the targeting of 'enemies' and a group cohesion process and a way to shut up the people who have figured him/them out and speak out about it.

They buy into the 'myths' so they will follow the leader. Unfortunately they are headed for a fall. The sociopaths always destroy the people around them in the end (by encouraging adolescent behavior so the 'patsies' can be controlled by not just coercion but by gang mentality). So many red state people see things in black & white and mirror Bush: Bush is all good and has no bad behaviors of instincts (bush, more so than most adults, suffers from sadism, envy, hate, etc.) So the myth soon becomes that I the Republican am "all good" and my actions "all good" and you the Democrat are "all bad" (notice how some repuke today said that Democrats were like car-bombers). Eerie and scary to see so much of your country in a grand delusion: thinking the person they follow is perfect.

And Bush coerces others around the world and at home. He has one set of rules that everyone else follows and one set of rules for himself to follow. And the blind do not see it. And some of the bad stuff is hidden (swift boat vets for the truth are sort of hidden - deniability at least). Look at the BTK Killer: he ran around all day forcing and coercing others to follow his civic enforcer rules meanwhile he was responsible for the murder & attempted murder of families where he tortured them.

People see what they want to see it has been said. But a sociopath like Rove is good and instituting feelings and fears in people which changes their assumptions and thus perceptions of things and people like Bush. Right now anyone drinking the kool-aid lashes out when faced with realities that do not promote their narrow view of the world. The mumble quiet nothings when it looks like abortion and gay marriage will not be delivered upon or they lash out and marry each other again when it is pointed out to them that fundies divorce in greater numbers than anyone else. They are the ones who are out of touch - the followers. They are vulnerable to reality at every turn. And shepherded by Faux News and blogs and churches & the Republican mailings.

Such coercion on the world stage may have gotten rid of Saddam Hussein but it is only fixing what was broke by the Oil Industry (and this very same neocon cabal before they adopted neoconservatism) in the last half of the twentieth century. Right wingers felt they had the option of destroying any democracy that favored a nation's poor over the interests of American business. The USA ruled the world this way for a long time (Just like Britain & Imperial powers before). It turns out that the biggest threat, in a world where markets coagulate, would be for the Middle East to form one big Islamist state. So the neocons drank some new Kool-aid and now "Democracy" is the new medicine of the day. But only as long as Democracy allows US access to resources and stops the Islamist movement. Okay allowing the US access to resources at too favorable rates is less important than before. All that matters in the Mid East is that the Islamists do not get power.

They had elections 10 years ago in Algeria. Islamists won and the election was called off. No elections since. As Chomsky says: "you hope this isn't the model for Democracy in the Mid-East".

So - as we see in the freepers - some of Bush kool-aid drinking followers will start 'baiting' to gain themselves some self-esteem and group specific self-esteem. Why the freepers got online after the election in many locations and tried to play with the loss Democrats were feeling.

But it is this honesty and ability to deal with grief & loss that will keep (perhaps propel) Democrats and Liberals into being the force that can defeat Bush and his delusional followers. Loosing so much, and cry & laughing about it, going through all the stages of loss, these are all adult things. The more we dig deep and do not knee-jerk react but react with adult boundaries and words, the harder Democrats will be to defeat. When the battle is between adults and adolescents - who do you think wins?

That is indeed why when Democrats started showing up at psychologists’ offices just after the election to deal with the loss - they were humiliated, baited and shamed by the GOP machine. The biggest danger to a pile o sociopaths is adults thinking for themselves and grieving issues instead of burying them. Because they then come out the other side with a new, even more adult, take on the world. And what threatens sociopaths more than adults thinking and discerning liberals with healthy ways of coping and the perceptive 'forest for the trees' thinking that comes with age, experience and wisdom. IMHO

4. Good Assesment! I Just Hope That They Self Destruct.
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 06:58 PM by DistressedAmerican
The dems have made painfully little progress against these folks since 2000. It is like every time I turn on the TV there is one more story about them consolidating their power.

Where is the opposition? We get it we are not brainwashed yet we seem to change little. Personally, I hope that the election of Dean as party chair will end all of this DLC appeasement crap.

With so many brainwashed followers out there thinking all this evil is actually good, It sure does make it easier to shove the whole neocon agenda down our throats.

The evil leading the blind. Bad news!
