WCKY out of Ohio-picking it up in Chicago-Check in if you're picking it up

I live in the northwest suburbs and while going through the am dial at 5:30 am I was able to get WCKY Revolution radio out of Ohio. Air Americas' Morning Sedition was on. My brother was able to listen all day. Able to get it yesturday and today. I will continue to try listening each day. The freq. is 1530 AM. Later in the afternoon WJJD (out of the Chicago area) played over WCKY. Living around Chicago, we have to keep hoping that Air America finally comes back.

I get Sirius, so I haven't listened for 'progressive' radio in awhile.

was your brother listening to 1530 in AH all day, or where?

WJJD is 1160, isn't it? how did it skip over to 1530?

have you heard that lousy, filthy, stinking new format on AM 560?

I'd love to see them on, as well....only bought Sirius when they went off AM radio; would welcome regular radio.

can you get thisihell on Saturday morning? WNUR in Evanston? 89.3 FM. I used to get it pretty well, but they did something to their signal, and now it's sporadic.

I was on Euclid heading west to Wilmette. Heard it all the way to the lake front. My brother was in Morton Grove. Even heard it all day from a radio in the house. I heard 560, more hate radio. I also listen to 89.3. Its a college station that has some progressive talk. Democracy now is sometimes on from 7-9am. Democracy now is also on 89.7 am. Thats another college station. They seem to come in better towards the city. 89.3 in AH seems to be a different channel. Were you at any of the gatherings held during the elections by the Dem. organization thats located on Arlington Heights Rd south of Thomas?

I did see many antiBush minidemonstrations at the train station on way to work (this was around the time of the invasion)

I get some of those stations occasionally, but usually too fuzzy to pick up

no, but Siriusly, folks....1530 came in pretty clearly on a bathroom radio

that means that the Ohio station must be getting pretty WIDE coverage, so you should start a thread letting people know they can listen over a broad area, depending on the directionality of that signal....it means it's going around three hundred miles west, anyway, so that's a LOT of people

gonna tell my cuz in Cincinatti; just told him about Gannon, and he hadn't heard word ONE about that, and he LOATHES * beyond imagining. He works for the dept of labor, and they're forcing him to investigate labor unions now, instead of what he did, even for part of the last four years, which was investigate depredations on labor by big biz

than Chicago: everything between them and here, which is a lot of area.

wonder if signal goes east, south, north? most of those signals at that end of the band are directional, like that lousy AM 950, that carried AAR for a month or so here last year. It was WORSE reception than I'm getting now from Ohio!

I'll have to check it out tomorrow, hope it reaches to the far northwest suburbs.

I discovered Wisconsin public radio (90.7 FM) a few months ago and pretty much listen to that all the time now. It is MUCH better than Chicago public radio and there are some really intelligent listeners who call in (I think a lot of them hang out on DU!).

start with, oh, say, Lying Liars, etc

I can pick it up at night until daybreak. It fades in and out but it's better than nothing. I wish they could nix the preachers broadcasting though.
