CA Nurse's "kick Arnold's butt" And Man, deservingly so...
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 10:59 PM by Zinfandel

Nurses work their asses off...Patients lose and Doctors get all the rewards...

And what Arnold tried to do "illegally" was to create even more profits for the corporate hospitals who are making huge profits at the nurses & patients expensive, (if anyone bothers to check the facts and not just listen to the hospitals bullshit).

Arnold and the corporate hospitals (which are usually doctor owned & incorporated as well as doctors as the main stockholders) what Gov. Musclehead & the hospitals want is less nurses working longer & harder, for less pay and benefits...and the nurses know it's their license on the line (not the doctors) while patients can't receive the care and attention, nurses want and know is necessary.

Three cheers for the Nurses! Support the CA Nurses Association!

2. I remember reading somewhere that Bill Frist owns 80% of our
nations hospitals. That should tell you something about profits!

7. I doubt that. But his family does own most of HCA (Hospital Corporation
of America), I just don't think they're 80% of the nation's hospitals.

However, in 2001 HCA was fined more than $1.2 BILLION by the Federal government for defrauding Medicare!

You see, they make their money the old-fashioned way, by stealing it from the taxpayers!

4. They always try to cut costs on the backs of the nurses
either by shortstaffing directly or by cutting ancillary staff, pushing chores like housekeeping off on nurses working the night shifts, having nurses do all lab draws, and the like.

Then they sit and wonder why the hell there's a nursing shortage and why young women who can get jobs that pay as well but don't wreck their bodies by the time they're 40 don't go into it.

So just when we're starting to need more and more nurses, the profit driven business of healthcare has driven many of them out of the profession and discouraged new nurses from entering. Add to that the fact that nursing education has been the orphan stepchild at too many schools and now there's a shortage of nursing educators, as well.

It's a system that could only have been designed by Repuglicans.

8. Your exactly right. They've been crying nursing storage for years.
And yet they want to offer nurses, with degrees, professionals, nothing but to become slave labor for the hospitals , doctors and the corporate medical industry.

They obviously don't care one bit about the patients, what it's supposed to be all about.
