***LOOK*** Who has seen this "Esuvee" commercial with the Snuffalupagus

in it?

You can see the website here:

www.esuvee.com You can also watch the ad there.

Look at that sucker.

This is being held out as some kind of an SUV safety campaign. It's being paid for by the Office of the Attorney General, among other government agencies, with our tax dollars.

Now- is it just me, or does this look more like an ADVERTISEMENT for SUVs? Big, bad, strong...a real tough guy's vehicle. It's all double entendre- even the slogan is: How Do You Ride?

(in a big bad SUV, or a wussy-ass little sedan?)

Have you seen the commercial on TV? The "safety" aspect of the campaign seems to take the backseat to the idea of how powerful an SUV is and how big it'll make your dick.

This is our tax dollars as work. It seems like yet another taxpayer-supplemented pro-business propaganda campaign, to me. Car companies AND oil companies have probably paid them big bucks for this campaign.

Or, am I just seeing things?

3. And, since most have too high a center of gravity, they're very UNSAFE
and have a higher accident rate and higher rollover rate than cars. So, actually, they're less safe.

Our government at work!

4. GOD is that offensive. And it's taxpayer funded?

"SUVs.. they're big, they're powerful, and you feel invincible on top of one.. now, that's great"

Yeah. Great choice with that turd-colored behemoth, too... SUVs- They're big, they're ugly, they smell like shit, and they're offensive as hell.

5. At a rodeo. You know what the worst thing about this is, though?
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 10:37 PM by BullGooseLoony
This is pure marketing genius. It will WORK. It's as good as that Nike commercial, with all the subconscious symbolism and artistic fascination...

SAD AS FUCK.

All paid for with our tax dollars, while the Bush Administration takes kickbacks from the auto and oil industries.

13. I love how the "safety" aspect is 100% directed at preventing rollovers...
i.e. saving the ass of the dipshit badly driving the thing.

No mention of the fact that, unlike a rodeo situation, the "wild Esuvee" will probably be sharing the road with other, smaller vehicles. Many of them carrying children... as opposed to, say, well-padded rodeo clowns.

Congratulations, though, you've provided me with a rant-worthy subject for today's short blog entry. Thanks.

8. This is a load of crap. It accepts the ubiquity of the SUV as a fact of
life, rather than a public safety problem to be solved. There was a choice on the site that said "sound off," and I clicked it so I could tell them what I think about this bullshit campaign, but it was only to mute the background noise.

9. "Like a whore wearing a rosary."
I heard a comedian say that tonight, his delivery was perfect, he said it killed him to drive around and see flags on SUV's because of the thugs we get oil from, then he said "putting an american flag on an SUV is like a whore wearing a rosary."

12. Geez. I thought it was a teaser ad for a new SUV.
The commercials do NOTHING to educate. HUGE REPUBLICAN waste of money.

From an advertising standpoint, it's some damn good CG work and a fun concept, though...
