Gas in Kansas City up 16 cents overnight.
I knew I should have filled up last night at 1.89 but it was raining so I figured I would just do it in the morning. Then I see 2.05, I know others on the coasts are paying more but for our area that is the highest I've seen topping even May of last year. Ouch!

1. It's up exactly 16 cents here too
in Omaha almost everywhere. I found a place that had 1.99 the cheapest I saw on the way home last night. Someone tell me why we are not marching in the streets.

2. In West Los Angeles, it is roughly $2.23,
We historically have some of the highest prices in the country...though it was below two not long ago.

6. LA is the only place where I have seen gas at $2.23 on one corner
and $1.73 on the opposite corner. It blows my mind. Anyone know why this happens?

4. It's only starting
Crude oil futures closed above 53.00 earlier this week, we should have been getting prices like this last fall, but, you know who kept the oil companies in line and they ate the difference.

Now, there isn't any reason at all to hold the price down, and the profits big oil made last year are now going to be obscene profits.
Look for gas to be around 2.45 a gallon in places like KC and Omaha where it's been historically lower.

Gasoline in the major cities, states, and especially CA and NY are going to go through the roof this year.

5. It went up 15 cents outside Atlanta
I cuss Dubya every time I fill up my tank. I make sure I'm loud about it too and most people around me join in. I like to think of it as a positive, community-building experience :)
