"Toni Lynn Woods, 37, of Strange Creek was arrested Wednesday on eight counts of sexual assault."

"State Police said several students reported they had been treated or touched inappropriately."

"In the criminal compliant filed against Woods, she admitted she had sexual intercourse with three students a total of four times."

"She also admitted to performing oral sex on two different juveniles a total of four times."

Beyond the fact this is sad , sordid, and regretable. I bet this happens more than most people think.

When we seemed to have an epidemic of child sexual abuse at day care centers, we were all aghast! How long had this been going on? How widespread was this? WERE OUR BAYBEES EVER SAFE???

Time and continuing investigation showed us that the first couple of cases were legitimate and that most of the subsequent cases were not. They were instances of misunderstood children, overzealous prosecutors trying to get famous, and grandstanding parents. People were sent to jail over nothing and their lives were ruined.

I have a terrible suspicion this is going to be the same. Female teachers are simply not that randy a lot and male students just starting to feel their sexual and patriarchal oats certainly have motives besides finding a convenient slot to stick tab A into.

As to this woman's appearance, since when did any teenage male turn down an offer of sex (if it was offered, which is doubtful)? They'd hump the crack of dawn if they thought they could jump that high.

I am NOT saying female teachers are catagoricaly inclined to this kind of behavior.
If anything, its the male teachers that do more of this.
I don't doubt that a witchhunt could follow. Just being falsely accused can create a perception that can cause problems.

I look at this as a character flaw addressed to the individual concerned and not a sweeping generalization. I feel bad for all concerned

Sexual misconduct with male students is A-OK if the teacher is pretty. My god the obsession with womens' appearance and how it becomes somehow significant in EVERY situation involving a female is thoroughly exasperating to me. I honestly feel like no matter what I do in life, that I will always be judged for how I look first and anything else is secondary. Thanks guys...

This is abuse, not sex as we consenting adults understand it. The teacher was abusing sixth-grade kids. Being "pretty" or "ugly" does not make it more or less acceptable, respectively.

The shallow, arrogant attitude that women exist solely for the visual and sexual gratification of guys. It's always about whether or not YOU would have sex with her. This crime, while sexual in nature, is not about that. The original poster, and those who posted to agree with him, suggests that it's somehow less reprehensible for a hot looking teacher to molest her students than for an unnattractive one. Now, imagine a scenario involving a male teacher. "Yeah, the 32 year old teacher had sex with a ninth grader but she won't be too damaged by it because he looks like George Clooney." No, I don't think you'd ever hear that.
