The tortured logic of the neo-con
"But make no mistake -- as I said earlier -- we have high confidence that they have weapons of mass destruction. That is what this war was about and it is about. And we have high confidence it will be found."

- Ari Fleischer, Press Secretary
Press Briefing
4/10/2003

"I think the burden is on those people who think he didn't have weapons of mass destruction to tell the world where they are."

- Ari Fleischer, Press Secretary
Press Briefing

2. Is it just me?
Or does that second quote not make any sense?

I've read and re-read it and I'm still not sure what he was saying.

4. Yes there new talking point is,"it was about spreading democracy"
please, the small token moves of Egypt and even the middle east thing is falling apart as we speak..... The right never wants to talk of the money it has cost to oust Saadam and how that was lied about or about how many brave US soldiers would perish for this bush crusade.... and you never see these photos in the US press..

7. It isn't about spreading democracy - Ari admitted it!

8. WMD was an obvious lie to placate the American people.
And Ari isn't a neocon.

'Spreading democracy' is what the actual neoconservatives have always been talking about. It's just not a particularly good motivator for Joe Nascardad and Betty Securitymom, and it's not a particularly good idea either.

10. yes but it is not our business to spread any form of
government.... time and time again history has shown nation building is a disaster for the imperial countries that have tried it.... and the US has tried it far to often and failed!
