Dean not pictured well in Grand Rapids
Maybe because it's in a GOP town, but the local TV station could really use a better picture of Dean--posted due to his appearance in GR with Pat Buchanan.

Picture at Light Up the Darkness, along with some of my older pictures of John and Teresa Kerry in Grand Rapids:

1. So why did you display it on your website?
GOP leaning papers use the worst pictures they can find. So if you are a Kerry supporter, why would you want to put such a bad picture of Dean on your site? Why not just ignore it?

2. Displayed to demonstrate the point
It's one thing to say that GOP media uses bad pictures. It's another thing to have examples to prove it. Nobody coming to a Democratic site is going to have their opinion changed negatively about Dean because we provided this example.

11. I'm glad he did. Really makes the point.

Of what shameless propagandists they are. Of all the thousands of smiling Dean photos, they make a point of publishing a rare shouting one. PIGS!

I sent them an e-mail to complain about their blatant partisanship in using that OLD photo.

12. New picture on their site
They now have a picture on their web site of Dean taken today at the event, rather than using the "angry Dean" file picture.

Maybe they paid attention to your email.

18. Actually, this illustrates the point of how the media TARGETS Dems, mf.
You can easily tell the politics of a paper by the photos they choose to print in the paper.

Mr. blm works in a newsroom and he said they are SUPPOSED to use the best shot available of the subject as a rule of thumb. The fact that this paper obviously did NOT do this really magnifies the bias of the paper and its editors.

This is all part of the problem we all need to address AS Democrats...the media has GOT to be exposed for the rightwing bias. This battle is ALL of ours and we are expecting Dean will lead the way on it.

5. Dean is like anyone else. He can take a good picture or a bad picture.
Why bother pointing it out? The media is famous for trying to make this good-looking man less attractive.

F*ck 'em.

6. It's more than a good vs. bad picture
It's a picture of the "angry Dean." They're still trying to portray him that way.

10. Also picture of Dean there
There is a better picture of Dean on the Doctors and Nurses for Kerry site, along with a statement from Dean supporting Kerry's health care proposals.

"i didn`t know there were actually doctors that were democrats"

Oh could I smack him around with that, but I won't. :)

When I first saw this picture of Howard, I wondered what in the world he was thinking by posting it. But when I realized he was showing how the local media was portraying Howard, I was glad. We need to hold the media to account for this stuff, no matter where they are.

14. That really is an unfair picture
Is there an e-mail for the station that used the picture? Maybe we should be flooding them with letters saying that it is unfair and that it creates a bias.

15. Click on picture
Clicking on the picture will go to the tv station.

The web site has replaced their file picture with a picture from today's event. It will be interesting to see which picture they pull up should they do a future story on Dean.

17. Yes, they debated
They debated in Grand Rapids this morning, which is where this picture came from. They also debated outside of Detroit last night. I assume they are going to multiple cities if they ahve been iln two cities in the area.
