They shoot allies, don't they?
They shot the Italian journalist after she was released from captivity and was trying to flee the country. I guess the Italians didn't realize we would shoot them.

I can think of a couple of good reasons the Italians would not have slowed down. Clearance for passage to the airport ahead of time, a lousy job of translating the language, or just seizing the opportunity to get her out before she was kidnapped again.

Oh well, it might be interesting to see if Italy decides to leave after this or if Bush shells out more money.

4. I think the Italian population is going to rise up in a large amount of
anger, leaving Berlusconi with one politcal choice to make. Quit Iraq and the US "Coalition of the Willing" or loose your career. As in, he will be retired and I just don't think Berlusconi is ready to retire yet.

5. Patience has already worn thin in Europe
And now this.

I can feel the growing hatred across the great pond.

13.  I used to say that I
detested, disliked, despised and loathed repubicans.
These past couple of weeks, I think maybe I have
advaced to hate? I'm not sure.

I did talk to a female republican (a former
neighbor) about how upset people are about
SocSec, Medicare/Medicaid, bankruptcy etc
on top of all of the dead in Iraq, not just
Americans.

Her response: They should get a life.

All I could get out: They can't get a life.
They're dead.

Her response: HHAHhahahahahahahahahaha that's funny!

Me: Well, should the day come that this republican
bullshit has an effect on YOU, then you will know
how everyone else feels.

But that won't happen because she has no siblings
or children and she is very, very well off and
brags that she has a CW permit because she carries
lots of cash so she can gamble so no one should
mess with her because she is republican.

17. I really do harbor
an hate for them. It's not a dangerous hate such as starting physical fights with them but it has developed into a real emotional hate. It is in response to their increasing control over my life. My Senators (from NC) are pushing bush's court nominees including Boyles from NC who is against the ADA and has ruled against the rights for the disabled under the context that ADA is unconstitutional. I suppose they support the idea of ending filibusters as well. Add in the fact this president most likely will appoint one of these enemies of my kid (who is disabled) and you have true hate on my part. When you take away someone's civil rights protection, you hate them. Therefore they hate my family and so I hate them. I hate them when I wake up every morning until I lay my head down every night. They have given me this gift of hate.

19. I, sad to say, am just as angry.
Every morning when I wake up I hope that something major has happened overnight to stop Bush. At this point I don't even care what type of event it is.

6. No one slows down on that road.
I hear they call it "death road" or something similar. Apparently it's not anywhere near secure. They said the guy driving had performed the same type of assignment in the past, and was familiar with the lay of the land, so he would not have been doing anything out of the ordinary.

10. Well everyone knows the reputation of Italian drivers. Of course
they were going too fast. They probably didn't take the time to learn what the word for "halt" was in Arabic. Their families didn't think enough of them to spend their own money to get them body armor.
So it was sorta their own fault don'tcha think? Besides "Old Europe" doesn't matter anymore and her newspaper is COMMUNIST!

Don't flame me, I am kidding. This sucks. How can Bush sleep at night? Too bad the Pope is so sick, I'm sure he'd have plenty to say about this otherwise.

16. I think I might puke
Honestly,
I think that this is part and parcel of the Bushco policy, the only difference is that the jack-booted thugs shot when the whole world was watching. Clearly this was not a "mistake". It has been documented time and time again here how AmeriKKKa is targeting journalists. Even the head of CNN said so publicly! Jeebus, AmerKKKa is so freakin DUMB!!

18. Do you really believe that folks in the U.S. military would obey
an order to deliberately shoot a 56 year-old woman who was "attacking" them with Italian newspaper articles? I sure as hell hope things aren't that far gone.
