Ok, big mistake, I turned on CNN for a moment.
"In the Money" show today. I don't remember who the "professor" was they were talking to, but he said "Bush will be remembered as one of the most successful presidents in the history of the US. He has spread democracy to the middle east where intellectuals said it couldn't be done." When one talking head actually asked about the poll saying majority of Americans have different priorities than Smirk (jobs, health care vs wars and SS reform)....he said "The best presidents we ever had had different priorities than Americans. The president should not make decisions for the country based upon the citizens temporary popular opinion."

No fucking wonder we are so doomed. I'm going to go insane.

1. Probably From The American Enterprise Institute
Welcome to the stealth world of CNNServative...kindly folks just like you and me telling us black is white and up is down. Say the lie enough and it's assumed to be true, and no place plays that role better than CNNServataive.

If you're wealthy, yep, these have been great times. Recently I had dinner with a man who owns a large company. He's an unabashed Bunnypants fan for strictly one issue. He said "this man saved me $200,000 last year"...that's all that matters. He has older kids who are beyond draft age and running his company...the only thing he still does is sign the checks. He doesn't care about abortion or gays or anything beyond his life of leisure and his portfolio. These are the guys this show is trying to reach or those who wanna be like those guys. For me, it's a very shallow existence.

I'm so sick of the phony game this regime plays trying to prop up the credibility of this decrepid regime. They were relentless on Clinton's "poll-driven" policies, as if asking what the people thought was evil and bad, but attempting to create their own polls and prop up this regime by using the same polls they used to dismiss.

Most of CNNServative's weekend drivel is pre-canned propaganda for some Time bird cage liner...there's far better viewing on the History Channel, Discovery or your local PBS station than this waste of electrons.

Cheers!

4. Yeah, I know.
I've probably only watched a total of 15 minutes of CNN in the past month. The guy was not from AEI. I know that group. He was a political science prof from some University.

It's just mind-boggling how out of touch with reality they are. They talk about investing money like they are speaking to average Americans. Yeah, most people can afford to buy that beach house and get an income off of it as a rental. :eyes: I felt like I was watching the private Wall Street channel and the program was Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

I just check in periodically to see what they're feeding to the people. I wish Walter Chroncite or Bill Moyers had been there to ask a follow up question to the "Professor." The most successful president... um, can you give me one example of Mr. Bush's SUCCESSES?

10. That Champagne Robin Leach Dream World
I dunno about you, but I don't find the lives of the filthy rich to be so awe inspiring. Earlier I scanned across and they had an hour "special" on some guy trying to set up a trendy hair salon and a superstar team of "corporates" showing them how to do it right. "Offer more services", "push more product"...yep, don't waste time being human, sell, sell, sell...value is always the profit, not the satisfaction of a job well done.

There has to be something to it...there are so many channels, magazines, books, stores and so on dedicated to self-indulgence and the need to be the "first on the block" to have the latest gizmo. Or the fascination with celebrity and riches. Sorry, I don't envy Donald Trump or want to be a big Hollywood Star or dream of endless vacations in places that don't pronounce they way they spell. Maybe I'm crazy, but seeing a smile or knowing I've done something positive in someone's life is more enriching to me than gawking at someone else's glutony.

This regime's media operation has created a masterful universe that has and continues to lie and distort reality with little opposition from a disorganized group of dissenters more interested in their own special interests than organizing a truely alternative voice. Oh well, hope there's a good basketball game on in a bit.

Cheers!

2. It is depressing, really
when I step back and see how confused and utterly wrong so many people are. Just about every source of information people use is pro-Bush. People are fed this filth all the time. It really gets me sick how blind people are.

I cannot wait until history shows how wrong all these people are.

5. Then why did Bush campaign on what's popular OPINION to FUNDIES?
If all his other efforts are so dynamic and great then why did Bush only appeal to what was popular with the worst opinion of the fundamentalist base?

Bush knows how to tweak the worst in popular opinion...he campaigned on it.

Anyone who claims otherwise is a dolt or complicit.

7. Exactly!
But the way the "professor" was talking, I got goosebumps. He sounded like he was describing a dictator. He was misty-eyed about the Boy King and his Grand Vision for the world and his Righteousness. Chills, in a bad way.

I caught the last part of an interview on the same show with him. It sounds like something he might say.

9. Didn't catch the name, but he kind of looks like Thomas Friedman.
They sure yuk it up with the pro-Bush guys huh? Then, suddenly they get real serious and badger the anti-Bush people. Oh wait. I didn't see any anti-Bush people. In fact they don't exist! *slaps forehead with hand*

They have driven me mad. :nuke:

11. 'Leaders can't make decisions based upon their citizens' opinions.
I mean really- the government should ignore the will of the people. That's the only sensible thing to do.

Now where was I? Oh right- spreading democracy in the Middle East".

12. When the People Want Good Jobs, No Wars, Good Health Care
low crime, good education, a clean environment, safe retirements, a good economy and an overall high standard of living, it's just so goddamned refreshing to see a President who ignores that "temporary public opinion" and does whatever the fuck he wants to.
