Sex, Drugs, Gay Men and Carrie Fisher
The unsinkable actress-author, whose gay superagent husband left her for another man, talks about getting it all down on paper in her funny and forgiving new novel
By Dennis Hensley
From The Advocate, February 3, 2004

...
You’ve clearly had a great rapport with gay men your whole life. When this happened, was there a part of you that was like, “Wait a minute. This can’t be happening to me. I’m in with the gays”?
Yeah, like suddenly I’m the Republican Party. “How did that happen that you do not tell me? That’s my thing!” Bryan and I got along very well, and we were very compatible, and it was as much that as anything that made it impossible to read in any way. So that’s when you run around in a kind of stunned fog thinking, How did I miss this? I know how!

Wes Clark on the front of "The Advocate" in his leather jacket and t-shirt, looking kinda like Freddie Mercury without a moustache? :D

OOPS. Found a larger view of that cover. Not a leather jacket. Man, I thought he was REALLY going for the gay vote. ;-)

3. Some people
are actually capable of being friends with people whose beliefs differ from their own. I know, it sounds crazy....

7. Well, that's not exactly what I meant. Let me reword my earlier thought.
You can be friends with anyone, but I'm not sure I'd want someone who is so close to * in my home. I was a briede's maid for a bush voter, but her hubby is a Dem and she is coming around. She's not a close personal friend of * or working on any campaign.

In a normal time, people of all political groups get along. But * is something very different and these yes men he's surrounded by are a bit scary. Would you want a * yes man in your home? The thought gives me chills. :scared:

It's not Republicans I'm against; it's the * fascists that terrify me. I guess at this point, I"m too angry to let certain things fall to the wayside. I have a hard time being with my fundy in-laws after they told my husbad and I we have no morals and values. I have fallen into the habit of grouping almost all * lovers into one big terrifying group.

10. Personally, I'm not afraid of * fascists.....
The idea of being terrified by them only enables them.

Very good point. I had not thought of it in this way.

Thanks! :)

5. A truer statement has never been made
"One bad thing about this tag, this classification of manic depression, is anytime anyone doesn’t like how you’re coming across, they can just say, “You’re taking your meds, right?” It’s like constantly saying, “You’re having your period, right?” I think I’m very sane about how crazy I am."

I know because I have this disorder. I was at the dentist's once and of course he has a list of my medications and knew my "tag". I am terribly afraid of the dentist and was shaky and asking a lot of questions and he says to me in a very condescending manner, "Did you take your medication this morning"?

God how I wish I had my hand on the drill at that moment.

Barbour Announces Run for Mississippi Governor
By Jeff Gannon
GOPUSA News
February 19, 2003

YAZOO CITY, MS (GOPUSA News) -- Former Republican National Committee Chairman Haley Barbour announced that he would be running for governor of Mississippi. The 55 year-old Washington lawyer and lobbyist, who once served as a political advisor to President Ronald Reagan, has decided to return to Mississippi "because I know we can do better."

After one of several speeches around the state, Barbour pointed out, "This state has spent like a drunken sailor. Drunken sailors should be offended by the comparison."

Barbour said state government had fallen "from its strongest fiscal condition ever to the worst financial crisis in our state's history." Barbour said his campaign would focus on "prioritizing spending" and fighting "any and all tax increases." He declared that "to raise taxes while government is on a spending binge is only feeding the beast."

Barbour is the first Republican to announce his intention to run against the incumbent Democrat Ronnie Musgrove. If Barbour were to win, he would become only the second Republican elected governor of Mississippi since Reconstruction.

12. As QC said, Cokie is the daughter of Hale and Lindy Boggs from...
Louisiana. They were both long-serving Democratic representatives (Lindy took over his seat when Hale died in a plane accident in Alaska in the early 70s).

14. I don't believe so, they could be related in some way, I am not
sure. Not a bad idea to research.

He was the media aid during St. Raygun's term. Then RNC Chairman. He helped the weed's run for gov of texas and his 2000 campaign. He also helped the weed prepare for the debates and for his 2004 RNC convention speech.

He is GOP/RNC/neo-piratizer to the bone!
