Republicans sowing the seeds of their own destruction?
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 07:39 PM by Postman
In there quest to:

Bankrupt the country into destroying the New Deal

Make tax cuts permanent for the wealthy elite while unable to grant a minimum wage increase for the working poor

Insult the civilized world with phony claims of WMD's launching wars of aggression

Mouth the words "democracy" abroad but practice something else at home.

Appeal to the greed faqctor in trying to sell a scam Social Security program to the youth of America and then claiming to be "religious"

Harrangue leaders of other countries about the need for a "free press" but subvert that notion at home.

..don't piss down my back and tell me its raining. When do Americans wake up and remove the republifascists from office?

5. If So, The Country Needs To Bake A Bit Longer
I fear that the American electorate is going to have to play stupid for a bit longer. Those Americans who remember the really tough times of the Great Depression are dying off from old age. Less than half of the country has wised up to the real Republican agenda, as shown by the results of the last election.

I personally believe that mass "conservatism" is a political philosophy that voters can only afford if they've got the bare fixings of a social safety net. Without Social Security and shackled with credit card debt, only then will a lot of thoughtless right-wingers be forced to reassess their political views.

Personally, I am worried that the Democratic Party might not be up to do what needs to be done to throw the criminal, amoral, corrupt party holding the USA by the throat. I fear that it may take something as angry and undemocratic as Juan Peron's Peronists. Since I'm none too sure as to how healthy our constitutional republic is at this point, I'm doubtful that a neo-Peronist takeover would mean the death of the American republic--because it will already be a dead and stinking corpse after eight-plus years of neocon/Republican leadership.
