4. As far as journalists go, on a scale of 1 to 10
Dan Rather was about a 3, but almost everyone else in the TV MSM would have to be rated a zero. They are all a bunch of spineless spokespeople including the "great" Walter Cronkite. This means that Dan Rather was more of a journalist than almost everyone else in the TV MSM combined.
Dan Rather had the balls to go after Shrub's National Guard "service" when no one else did. I wish he would have investigated Abu Ghraib, 9/11, election fraud, and a lot of other matters that need to be investigated by the free press. OK, Dan Rather wasn't a great journalist, but he was far better than the spineless bozos who've been criticizing him.

I wasn't able to see the old coot sign off for good. Of course, I don't watch corporate news anymore, but this was a nice piece of nostalgia.
