Joe Lieberman is a DINO, says a new website

Two DINOs: One from "the modern Stone Age," the other from the modern Robber Baron Age.

"Democrat In Name Only" or DINO, is a name a new website applies to Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT.)

Lieberman is up for election in 2006, and www.TimeToGoJoe.com is asking people to pledge to donate to a possible primary challenger.

Lieberman votes the website cites critically include:

Confirmation Alberto R. Gonzales (he who approved torture and thinks the Geneva Convention is quaint and antiquated) to be Attorney General. Joe voted WITH the Republican Majority

...Cloture Motion on Senate Bill 256 - Bankruptcy Bill. Joe voted WITH the Republican Majority

While some say "any democrat" is better than "no democrat", I sometimes have my doubts.

At least in one case your opponent is fully revealed. In the other, he is like a snake in the grass.

2. They sure look like twins to me! Seriously though, Lieberman

needs to follow in the footsteps of my local Ohio State Rep. Derrick Seaver. He served for a couple terms as a Democrat but was in truth a Repub. In 2004 he even openly came out in support of *. I wrote quite a scathing letter to him telling him he needed to change parties if that is where his heart was. And I'm sure he received many, many more letters. Sure enough, after he was re-elected as a Dem., he changed parties a week or so later. What a joker!! Anyway, that should be the route of Lieberman. But not AFTER he's re-elected in 2006 as a Dem.

3. A no-brainer. Drop him like a bad habit. Also...

a progressive * independent* might have a good chance if the party machinery engineers the renomination of Lieberman and he is opposed by a mainstream (even-further -to-the- right) republican).

Last I heard, Weicker is still alive.

It's a big state. There are others.
