A view from a sistizen of Italy.
IMy son has worked in Sicily for 4 1/2 years, and has made quite a few friends there. He was complaining about all the money the US gov't takes from us, and is always trying to take our benefits away. One of his friends from Sicily responded to his complaints, and I thought you might find it very interesting. (Please remember this was sent by a native of Sicily to an American, and give him a break on his English abilities.)

Godd point xxx!!!!!!
But I just wanted to remind yo the at least in USA you
receive from the government a lot of benefits, any
kind of services.....all pubblic offices works almost
great, almost none burocray....and after all they try
very hard to give to all the americans all the
democrazy they obteined by voting them.....
Of course they eat some of yor money...they can do
what ever they want because they make laws and you do
not|||
....But ...they still give yo what governer in Italy
do not give to us....
....Yes we have a democracy like yo do in the States
but we are treated very bad, we pay more taxes then
you can ever immagine, and maybe we will never get a
decent retirement pay check when we will
retire....plus we drive in shitty roads... our public
offices are slow and the people that work there most
of the time do not know what they are doing....so in
definitive we have a democrazy like you do in
US....but in our country the governer take all the
money for theis purposes and they pretend they do
things for us!!
So.....just define your self luky that yo wher born in
your country.... here we have to fight every day to
get what we want and most of the time we do not obtein
what we want..... in America if yo are worht it..if
you have good skills....yo get what you want with no
probles.
PS. Did you know that also to get to work as a
hamburger griller in McDonald's HERE IN FUCKING ITALY
YO NEED A RECCOMENDATION?????
That is unaccetable.......

1. If Your Son's Friend Had To Actually Live In the U.S. ...
he'd have a very, very different view.

2. Yes, there are still quite a few Europeans who think that the USA is
some kind of fairyland. Unfortunately. I'd like to make them read DU every day for two weeks and they'd be cured. That guy doesn't know how good life (still) is for him in Italy...

7. Lol, no
I meant America will likely soon be as broken as he thinks Sicily is.

Me and mine were a month from being deployed to Sigonella a decade ago, but a last minute change in orders sent us in the other direction, to Japan.

4. four years ago the u.s. was just as he says
and imagines, but now it is different and we are fighting to make sure it comes back. then i hope people around the world admire us for what we are not what we were, a once great nation destroyed by a dictator.
