1. There Is a Place For People Like That

The prison wing of the Palace of Peace in the Hague.

But no hanging, because capital punishment is wrong.

2. Though I think capital punishment is wrong, I've considered an exception
But that prison looks just fine to me. ;)

3. I'm anti-homicide.
Even for war criminals.

But "life" should mean L.I.F.E.

imo.

4. that's horrifying
This isn't the 18th century. Public executions are unacceptable. In my view, any execution is unacceptable.

Besides, these soldiers being tried for abuses at Abu Ghraib are only taking the fall for their superiors, including Sanchez and Rumsfeld.

8. The soldiers didn't even cross my mind. The Nuremberg Tribunal wasn't
about going after the grunts...

11. Yes and no. The US military is disciplining its own troops. They're not
charged as war criminals. And obviously no leader is going to charge himself with war crimes.

Yes he's blaming the troops for the torture because he's a lying bastard of a coward, but there's no war crimes charges.

If we were back in the Nuremberg Tribunal days, it's the LEADERSHIP that would be charged for war crimes, not the grunts.

12. not going to happen
Bush has continually refused to sign on to the World Criminal Court and resists other human rights tribunals that might be used to prosecute Americans. He knows very well that there are a long list of Americans the rest of the world would like to be prosecuted.

13. Nope, not very likely at all, agreed. But we will all pay for his crimes,
one way or the other. We're paying now; rising world dislike of bush turning into dislike of us; increased threat of terrorism; loss of US brand popularity -no one wants the big US brand items anymore, Coke and Marlboro etc so our economy is hit; loss of tourism revenues and loss of foreign student revenues etc.

I have high hopes though that bush & Cartel WILL pay severely when The Judge is presiding. ;)

7. War criminals should be locked away in solitary confinement until death.
No contact with humans ever again for any reason.

Exile from humanity forever.

14. It's only fair... put Grainer back at the Ghraib, and toss them in there
with a little make-up, a good tan, they will fit right in... where oh where are the photoshoppers.... wouldn't that make some great shots??

Our fearless leaders being taunted by dogs... and being made to goosepile one upon the other.... heh, heh, heh...

16. Camp Gitmo, lights and Barney's song 24/7 and throw
away the key.

I am against capital punishment. Capital punishment puts it into the collective consciousness that murder is ok.

I'm fervently against capital punishment. It lowers us all when the state sponsors murder. I'm sure everyone can agree that it's ridiculous that Manson gets parole hearings, but his sentence should have been commuted to life without ANY chance of parole.
