Has anyone here checked the message boards at Yahoo
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 10:47 AM by progrocker69
pretaining to the story about the Iraqi police that were "mistakenly" shot? OMG, the venom directed against the Shrubministration is just overwhelming! Maybe, and I stress MAYBE, 5% of the posters are supportive of the reich-wingers! And, I've never seen a story with almost 55,000 messages posted about it before....

Here's the link to the story:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030912/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_030903160805

Just go to the bottom and click "Message Board" to see the howls of rage for yourself!

On edit: Christ on a crutch I'm blind! Make that over a HALF MILLION MESSAGES!! Over 511,000 when I just went back to read some more posts. Not that I can even be accused of "stirring the pot" over there anymore as there's now a category 5 hurricane in a bucket in progress....

1. It's pretty amazing
Times are a changing. A couple of years ago, I dreaded reading the
messages on these articles on Yahoo because 99% seemed to be pro
Bush. It was so disheartening. Recently it's been just the
opposite and that is so encouraging. Thanks for posting this - It
gives me hope that people are starting to wake up.

21. I have noticed the top stories are most often anti-administration
stories. My son who is 30 years old gets all his news from Yahoo. I suspect many Gen Xers read Yahoo and that is good news. The young people are hopefullu becoming energized by what they see happening.

My son and many of his friens are for the 1st time becoming interested in politics. Perhaps that is the silver lining(I am digging deep here) of this fuc**d up administration...to awaken young voters and make them interested in civil service.

One of his friends apparently is a DUer I found out this morning, I don't know who yet, but was thrilled when I heard that.

As all the lies and hypocrisy of this cabal comes to the light, a renewed hope for our nation will be right behind it.

2. I thought the questions about polls were interesting. I saw the Gallup

Poll this morning on CNN and it showed a drop from of 7% after the 87B speech. Is that right because others are showing him up?

6. Never mind there is a posting here now on the poll. When I listened this
morning, the info was made to sound like the big drop was after his speech. I think it comes after an accumulation of things and that speech was the wake-up call for lots of folks.

5. What goes up must come down....
And Bush's meteoric popularity rise of 9-11 is (IMHO) about to see a drop of equal proportions. Stupid id as stupid does comes to mind.

7. Check out the message list
First message was posted on 9/4/03 and this story is about an hour old. Yahoo must have some glitch in their message boards system. That high message count is not all for this story.

10. Whoa. Glad you caught that!
I know I wouldn't have.

Yup, it's a glitch... but still, in the time it takes me to read a post it practically vanishes to the second page! So, that's still at least 30 or 40 posts a minute and it shows no signs of slowing down.

12. I thought those were some amazing numbers...
But, OTOH, his jumps and dives in the general poulace polls lead me to feel hopeful for a continuing decline in his popularity/viability.

They update a story pertaining to a previous story and just merge the messages there.

depending on your browser, you can view the properties of the image. The host website is listed where you can find a small amount of info on it.

Pretty cool, huh?

Though for me it has the wrong version of Netscape. Probably because I have several versions loaded and haven't deleted all the old ones.

19. The repukes you will get usually have messages like
It's all KKKlintoons fault

You long-hair smelly hippies need to take a bath and get a job

Get over it, Gore lost

You're just jealous that Bush is popular president

I'm just glad we have someone in the white house who brings back high morals.

I would love to have one repuke in there just discuss the issues instead of quipping insults...just once!

It used to be about 5 to 10 percent would attack BushCo - now only about the percentage support the evil Chimp and his henchmen!!!
