Mayor Buddy Dyer to be Suspended by Jeb Bush...
Yesterday, Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer was indicted by a grand jury investigating irregularies in his 2004 election. Today, gov. jeb bush said he would suspend Dyer.

Folks, this is another example of GOP underhandedness. They could not win the mayor's election fair and square so they are attempting to take it by "investigation". Dyer is of course a Democrat and mayor of the largest city in Central Florida. Need I say more.

The "irregularies" have to do with a man named Thomas picking up absentee ballots and delivering them to the Supervisor of Elections office. Ironically, Thomas had Mel Martinez as a client in 2004.

1. This is an outrage, Jeb Bush should have been impeached...
...for what he did in the 2000 and 2004 elections regarding voting fraud.

3. We need to keep tabs on this
Where there is a story in which the words "election" and "Jeb Bush" appear together, there is always good reason to suspect fraud.

By the way, Floridians, what authority does the Governor of Florida have to suspend mayors?

10. Grand jury heard the evidence and
indicted. Big deal. They'd indict a ham sandwhich. But some of the facts are that Ezzie Thomas who's a campaign consultant for Buddy Dyer, illegally gathered absentee ballots in predominantly black neighborhoods during the mayor's re election campaign and filled them out illegally (made up names or put people doswn to vote that were dead or uneligible to vote) The irony is they didn't need to do it. Dyer was expected to win in a landslide and did. Anyway, 2 workers who got instructions from Ezzie have turned state's evidence. My husband is a defense lawyer on Dyers legal team. He says that Dyer and Thomas's names will be cleared and they'll be vindicated ( he says that about most of his clients).

12. I have known ....
Patty Sharp (Dyer's campaign manager) for almost 30 years. Yes, she is a pretty tough cookie and is very partisan but she is honest and ethical. I know Mr. Thomas slightly. I have attended some events such as the MKL Parade and was introduced to him that sort of thing.

The truth is that the Republican Party has tried to unseat Buddy Dyer from Orlando's City Hall for 2 years. When Glenda Hood was tapped to be Jeb's new Secretary of State following his election in 2002, she did not immediately resign which should have been the protocal but 'hung around' until she and her campfollowers could find a candidate to run for office. The Mayor's office and city council are 'non-partisan' but its an open secret what is people's party affiliation. There was a lot of talk about this. Finally, Tico Perez a local attorney threw his hat into the ring along with several others including Pete Barr a retired advertising executive. Barr and Dyer won the primary and then went head to head in the general election. Dyer won fair and square. This was the last year of Hood's unexpired term. Hood left the city's treasury in chaos. Something like $20M in debt which she now says she didn't know about. Dyer had to clean that mess up and unfotunately some employees were laid off.

In 2004, Mulvaney came in 2nd in the mayor's race. He owned a downtown tavern, had filed for personal bankrupcy twice, and din't even live in the city limits. Right after that he and his brother started saying that Dyer had won through voting fraud and the drumbeat started to get rid of Buddy Dyer.

13. The Governor of Florida...
has the constitutional authority to remove elected officials from office under certain circumstances. He did this in Broward County to the Supervisor of Elections.
