Did al-Qaeda shoot its wad on 9/11?...no cells in U.S.?

For three and a half years, Bush and Co. have used the threat of another attack here in the US to justify everything from Iraq to the Patriot Act. But if al-Qaeda is so powerful, why is Osama begging al-Zarqawi to send people here? And why did a secret FBI report found no sleeper cells -- none, nada -- here in America. Read the whole post above and you'll also be wondering if 9/11 was the end of "World War IV," not the start.

doesn't need to do anything more.

I'd suggest the US is doing the damage to itself, and all al qaeda has to do is sit back and watch.

2. More likely,

we "overestimated" AQ's strength...and organizational ability. With all the people who were arrested for attending AQ training camp in Afghanistan, it was apparent that AQ was in the process of building an organization but apparently it wasn't a mature organization....or, for that matter, effective.

The summer before September 11 the chimpster said how safe America was, bla, bla. This after he was warned something was gonna go down. Likewise this, to get our minds off it, so they can set up another attack and cry how they didn't know them terrorist was gonna use donkeys to blow up Las Vegas or something.

6. Richard Clarke has a startling article in ...

... the Jan/Feb issue of the Atlantic called "America Attacked: The Sequel".

He imagines the year to be 2011 and has an imaginary speaker recapping the attacks on the U.S. from 2005 to 2011.

It's not just a silly attempt at fiction, either � since as every "future" attack is described � he supplies real footnotes about ways the "attack" could have been prevented, but wasn't � mostly by footdragging by the real current administration.

Well worth the read.

7. As much as it sucks Al Qaeda got lucky on 9/11...

Many things had to go right for AQ and it did... I think Osama is playing us big time... all he has to do is sit back now and watch us defeat ourselves... Was he smart enough to read that the conservatives/republicans/neocons would use 9/11 for political gain and expediency this way? I would say no. He is probably cheering that it did happen this way... Also as a unintended benefit I think OBL is glad that Bush will not capture him as it is much better for the GOP to keep OBL at large as he provides the perfect bogeyman to keep the ditto-heads in line...
