The winner takes all. The winner gets the prize. This is how history works.

1. No - big oil lost the right to get a huge portion of the oil revenues from
all Middle East countries. They can still gauge consumers in the USA. But they have to be behind democracy in the Mid East... so they will see fewer profits that come out of the pockets of the arab on the street. This will translate into schools and businesses and happiness for the generation of kids who will be a huge group of adults some day.

2. So what do you see in 50 years?
Peace? Arabs and Israelis have to accept each other. They speak and look and worship the same thing.

3. Democracy and "don't interfere in that" is the new tool of the right wing.
Don't you see? As long as countries can be kept small in size the corporations will be more powerful in relative terms. So you keep the middle east countries from all joining together under one Islamist State by forcing market & small democracies on them.

Common markets may be aloud but democracy will keep the nation & the the democracies that represent people and are therefore unpredictable...to be much smaller and less powerful than the Big Corporations.

So because it is convenient to the Big Oil needs... democracy is a good thing. Divide and conquer.

4. Nice flame-bait..
So I guess you would be OK if I beat the crap out of you, kick you out of your house and make it mine (while, of course, I keep your spouse for menial labor).

Man, and I thought this was a forum for progressives.. When it comes to Israel even progressives become Neanderthals.

5. ugh
First of all, Prussia is NOT Poland, Poland was PART of Prussia, the rest was Germany, you should know that, since you claim to espouse a knowledge of history.

Israel does not include the Palestinian territories. The Palestinian territories are currently under occupation by the Israeli government under Ariel Sharon, but they are NOT part of Israel. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians.
