3. UN is a large committee
made up of countries the US has annoyed/harmed, one way or another.

So don't hold your breath.

The rest of us don't need saving.

4. I keep telling myself that daily but I am slowly losing hope and preparing
myself for the worse by reading 1984, The Handmaids Tale, etc.

5. The UN cant save us. They get
most of their money from us. If we crash and burn. What could they do. They wouldn't even step in to help in Rawanda and you think they would help us?

6. If technology fuels a tendency towards one world, to overcome tribalism,
then the question is: Will this tendency be public (the U.N.) or private (the multinational corporations)? I think we can see the trend at this time.

7. what a weird (and unfounded) statement
How about working to win in 2006 and 2008 instead of putting your hopes into a world body that frankly has no interest in fixing your problems?

And stop your damned whining. Humanity has faced and ovecome a helluva lot worse than George W. Bush.

any one of numerous other despotic regimes that we should entrust with our freedoms and well being? We have to solve our own problems with our own courage and resolve! This is defeatism at its worst - if we can't win back our own country onour own we don't deserve it.

11. The UN is toothless.

As long as we have a veto, and we always have a veto.

I find organizations forming to unite regions as a more likely counter force.

If places like Africa and South America can unify to control thier own destinies, that would stop the US.
