Why did these Senators break from their own party?
Lincoln (D) Yes.
Pryor (D) Yes.
Salazar (D) Yes.
Biden (D) Yes.
Carper (D) Yes.
Nelson (D) Yes.
Inouye (D) Yes.
Bayh (D) Yes.
Landrieu (D) Yes.
Stabenow (D) Yes.
Baucus (D) Yes.
Nelson (D) Yes.
Reid (D) Yes.
Bingaman (D) Yes.
Conrad (D) Yes.
Johnson (D) Yes.
Byrd (D) Yes.
Kohl (D) Yes.

I am simply disgusted at these people. Thankfully, my senators did not vote for this insane bill to go after people who are not able to pay their credit card debts and file for bankruptcy. I am epecially disgusted with Joe Biden. Joe Biden. The guy who likes that torturer Roberto Gonzales (He's the real deal!). The man that is suppose to be a leading voice in the Senate for the Democratic Party and he may run for President in 2008??? Harry Reid should also be ashamed. Now, people who are not able to pay their debts, me included, are going to get reemed big time. Didn't any of these people have any conscience?

I am surprised Lieberman voted "No" for thing. As for the Senators I have mentioned above, this is part of the reason the Democratic Party has gone soft. We can no longer reach out to the other side and be like the Republicans. This crap piece of legislation speaks volumes. You guys in Delaware should get Biden out of the Senate and vote in a real Democrat. All because of what they did, there are going to be some Democratic Senators who are going to lose their seats in 2006.

Just pathetic. There is no excuse for it!

1. They are proving Nader right everyday. "The two parties are...
the same" is what Nader said and Democrats are proving him right. It only strengthens his case and everyone else will now pay for the corruption.

5. Cascadian, You're right. This is the Hall of Shame!
I'd like to believe that we have strong new leadership. Reid disappointed me big time on this as did Byrd. I'm nor ready to throw the baby out with the bath but renewed pressure has to be applied. The rest of them are whore-dogs. Don't get your hopes up for Biden. If you watch him carefully, a written message appears on his forehead (like on the kids stomach in "The Exorcist"), and the message is "FLAKE". He's one big time. Just remember the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings. He blew it. We've got a long way to go but the trip is worth it.

12. Don't forget Biden with Roberto Gonzales.
"I like you! You're the real deal!" "Come here ya big lug! I love ya, man!" Well he did not really say part of that but you get the idea.

Would you for this man as a Democratic nominee in 2008? Seriously :eyes:

6. How about Stabenow from Michigan
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 09:49 PM by mvd
With all the laborers who are in Michigan? x(

Instead of trying to get a filibuster going, Reid votes FOR the bill! I was starting to like him a bit, but he took a definite step back.

22. I live in MI
and thought she was doing well...until recently when she first voted for Condi...

I can't tell you how disappointed I was to see her name on the list.

She'll get my vote in '06 because I don't want a puke winning, but I won't give her any $ or time. She can go suck MBNA's tit for that.

25. Reid is beginning to look like a Nevada version of Daschle.
It seems like he is going down the same path as Tom Daschle. We all know what happened to him! Just like Daschle's home state of South Dakota, Nevada is a pretty conservative state and he could lose that seat the next time he is up for reelection.

Democratic voters have to start putting their lawmakers' feet to the fire and email, write, or phone their Senators and Congressmen. Flood their offices with letters and phone calls. Tell them not to succum to the Neocons and start fighting.

7. Money.
Biden and Carper, for example, get beaucoup bucks from the credit card industry, which is huge in Delaware. And I bet they'll justify their disgusting betrayal of regular people to benefit these corporations -- an industry that made a profit of $30 billion last year -- by saying they need the money to run against Republicans because if they don't get elected they can't further other liberal causes.

To which I say, bullshit. What could be more important than protecting working people from corporate loan sharks? This "bankruptcy reform" act will doom millions of people to indentured servitude. There is no excuse for this vote. None.

Learned that in an e-mail I sent him. I'm mad as hell at these yellow belly cowards. What an insult to the democratic leaders who voted against it. What the hell are they trying to do, make them look like ass 's. I won't vote for nelson come 2006, we need someone else here.

10. This is the DLC....this is where they get their funding. We can fix it.
We can fix it by giving them another source of funding to count on...at least in part.

Give Dean a chance, donate to the DNC. Provide another base of support they don't have to depend on the DLC.

13. The DLC's time is done.
How can anybody argue that we have gained from their leadership? How can they? No. We must sweep them aside and bring in some people with real Democratic values. Not Republican Lite!

11. What could possibly be their reasoning?
Either they want the campaign money to keep flowing from the CC companies, or they're completely intimidated by the repubs and want to hoard their "no" votes for something else. But that doesn't even make much sense.

They should be required by us to explain why they did this.

18. How can they sleep at night?
With the absence of health care reform, the bankruptcy bill will seriously harm families when they need help the most. While I'm sure there is a small minority who run up credit card bills on crap and then bail, the vast majority of people have fallen on hard times or are true victims of this administration's policies. It's difficult to find work when your job has been outsourced to India. I'm disgusted with these so-called "Democrats."

19. Neither party represents working people....as Obi Wan says in
Attack of the Clones (and I am paraphrasing)...senators are concerned with those that fund their campaigns.

The US Government is a wholey purchased and owned subsidiary of global corporate interests. The bosses have their parties (Dems and pugs). It is time working people have their party but organizing that will be an uphill battle because too many people think that each election is too important to stand up for principals and vote against the Dems. Well, with each passing election the Dems prove they do not care for working people and our struggles.

When will it be right for working class people to bolt the Dem party and organize our own party? When we are in our own Gitmo? When we are BEGGING doctors to treat us (some people are already doing this).

21. Won't do any good but here is a letter I sent them....
Dear Senator....

I address this to the 18 Democratic Senators who voted for the Bankruptcy Bill on March 10, "Shame On You" Yesterday you helped pass legislation that will make it harder for Americans to rid themselves of debt by filing for bankruptcy. Who and what were you thinking? You just gave the Credit Card companies a gift of a life time...Yes they needed your help they only made $30 billion dollars last year...we feel their pain...We also understand these same credit card companies write some nice heafty checks to you, now you can smile all the way to the bank.

The House is expected to pass the measure next month. It would be nice if there were enough members in the House who respect the American people but since the majority in the house are Republicans, I don't see it happening...Because they like getting thos big checks too. If you are not being bought off by the credit card companis then it's the drug industry or the oil industry, there is always some industry out there willing to buy your vote. Let me ask you a question is this what you teach your children, are you telling them the truth? "Son, I have a price tag, I am for sale to the highest bidder are you proud to call me dad or mom, just remember before answering I am the one who gives you your alowance."
So go ahead wrap yourslef in the flag, grab your bible and forget who sent you to Washington you have no principles, you have no guts, sooner of later what comes around goes around.

Lincoln (D) Yes.
