LOL! AND you get to vote in their local races. They have special speakers and meetings too that you can get into.

You must be too young to remember the 1988 campaign. One of Bush 41's big campaign themes was that Dukakis was "a card-carrying member of the ACLU", thus updating the McCarthy-era catchphrase "card-carrying Communist".

I guess the apple never falls very far from the tree.
