Which of Our Candidates Appeals to Men??
Analysis after analysis of voters over years now has shown that we fall right off the cliff when it comes to white males (hence, "Stupid White Men"!). If we cut even 20% into those numbnuts, we would rid this nation of Bush and have the repukes on the run. Now, there is no coicidence at all that the demographics of Limbaugh listeners (and his ilk) are white, male, 20-40, uneducated.

I thought "guns" might do the trick; but realize it's a useless bag. A labor union boss called into C-Span and talked about how depressing it was in 2000 to get the members pretty much all lined up to vote for Gore and then have the NRA sweep into town two weeks before, pump their shit, and end up with a large chunk of the guys voting Bush - including some of the Union bosses themselves. There is more to the NRA than guns; just like there is more to Falwell, Robertson and the right wing preachermen than regligion. They are fronts for right wing propaganda. Thus, no matter what stance we take, they will be "in town" delivering the votes for the repukes. We can try. But this isn't going to bring them around.

We've tried the "jobs", "benefits", etc. approach and they just pick their nuts, fondle those guns and go vote repuke. I suppose we could whip up a "hate women" campaign but that would kind of blow our foot off, wouldn't it!!?? Other than promising them free beer for a year, I positively don't know how to reach them. Therefore, I assume that the closest thing we can do is give 'em a man (or a woman with huge tits)that turns them on as "one of the boys"......who do we have??

1. Now hang on...
I'm white, male, 30 and I have never voted anything but my conscience and I'm a liberal. While I realize that the GOP powerbase is my demographic, to categorize all white males as NRA nuts is way offbase. There are a lot of people like myself out there. The question isn't how to appeal to them, the question is how do we get them to actually vote.

19. The ones that vote, vote 70% Repuke
I know these guys. Hell there but for the grace of my parents go I.

They are motivated by macho bullshit, saying "they'll take our guns" or "kill all the towelheads and let God sort it out"

In a perfect world we would not need to patronize these neanderthals.

In a perfect world Repukes would never win elections.

General Clark throws red meat to the clueless. And peeling off another 10 percent of the bubba vote puts Dems in the White House.

2. When is that minority going to lose its stranglehold over us?
No offense to them (I love my straight white WASP male that I have at home) but I am sick of kow-towing to them.

5. Not a strangle hold
since we do nothing for them. Perhaps you should think of it as, why don't we try to represent our nation as a whole instead of just certain groups all the time.

3. Give them the truth and promise them a job
I don't think men are that stupid, especially when they're desperate. This isn't 2000.

9. demnan--I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time it gets
through to them given the economic climate and all the dough going "over there". We thought that would do it in the mid-terms and got blown away but that was as Bush was hyping war and they thought it would be glorious and cheap. HOPEFULLY, this time the Unions can tell them to turn off Rush, forget about guns, etc. for a minute and vote Democratic.

13. Homer clones
When 70 percent of our population thinks Iraq was involved with the 09/11 tragedy, I think we have a huge number of Homer Simpson clones among us ("Hmmmmm, ooiil").

The only potential candidate I can see who can pass the 10-second evaluation and yet become a good president is Wesley Clark.

6. Clark and Dean both have appeal.
"manliness", as defined in the most general sense, could be said to be a willingness to do whatever it takes to right the ship. A take charge person. I think both Clark and Dean do that, and both have forceful personalities and take up a lot of air in the room.

I think that's why a Clark/Dean ticket of some fashion would be tought to beat even for an incumbent president, let alone an unelected fraud.

8. Any *white* NFL star would cover that one
Unfortunately, most of those guys seem to become republican stooges shortly after their first paycheck. It can't be a lineman either, has to be a quarterback or maybe a tight end. Alternatively, any actor whose convincingly played the part of a football player, such as Nick Nolte, might work on the armchair quarterback demographic in a subliminal manner.

Oh, the woman with huge tits thing? Won't work. Mommy stays home barefoot making apple pie while daddy runs the country. Stupid white men will accept women with big boobs as news anchors or even political pundits, but not as national leaders. Otherwise, Mosely-Braun would be polling a lot higher in that demographic.

12. Oganism---about that "after their first paycheck"
It is so true. I guess it's the Limbaugh effect of telling them they shouldn't have to pay no stinkin' taxes because I can't figure out why they get all rippty shit about the taxes out of their paychecks but that doesn't make the women go nuts about it being taken out of theirs. Apparently, women are a bit more in touch with money going for a "common good" than what Limbaugh has trained in the minds of these males; ie., memememe

17. Women seem to be naturally oriented to the community
If you want to understand how shallow us white men are, you have to delve into our psycho-sexual subconscience (careful with the shovel, we're usually not very deep). One TV documentary that has accomplished this is The Man Show, which usually airs on Comedy Central at about the same time as The Daily Show. For example, they did what I consider the definitive exposition of the standard male fantasy of having multiple female lovers at once: immediately after "consummation" of this glorious phallocentric act, three beautiful women transform into a pizza, a case of beer, and a widescreen television.

IMHO, Comedy Central broadcasts more honest truth each day than CNN manages in a year.

Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 12:14 PM by rusk2003
Jhon Kerry the best. I use to think the Democreats wanted to take all the guns away. But started to think I know no where in America that has a ban on guns or that a gun could not easily be brought. I think the Democrats might want to water down some their gun control positions that is why Al Gore is not President. I mean who are all of the gun control people going to vote for a republican (yeah Right). So they will not loose any wvotes from that group of people if they do countinue to water down their polices on gun control.

I assume you are a male. So tell me how, when, where did you figure out that Dems aren't going to "take your guns away"??? That's the big lie these repukes spread for years and if we know how to get the message across more effectively, it sure helps alot. Any suggestions???

18. Well here is how
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 01:01 PM by rusk2003
I read and researched and looked at heavily democratic states New York and California they still have guns just you have a load of paperwork to go though. Since Iam not insane or a crook I have no problem with it. Personally I perfere to use non lethel self defence when ever possible. Rifels which are commmonly used in hunting have less restrictions.

The best way to make both groups happy is to let states decided. That way gun owners can have there way as well as the gun control crowd. If some one dose not like the gun control polices of California then they could move to Georgia,Teaxs Airzonia, and vice versa. I support moderate rules on the Second Amendement I think most of the Democrats polices are to far left although I think the Republicans are to far right. So If the Democrats can come a balance they would atract both groups of voters (compromise).

15. We can always steal a page from the Repuke playbook and play
the race card. Just keep reminding them that their tax dollars are going to build schools, roads and hospitals for a bunch of towelheads while ours deteriorate. That should do it.

16. What good are their guns if Ashcroft can seize them with the Patriot Act ?
I think we need to be pointing out to the voters, all of them, but especially those that are male and have guns that the 2nd Amendment and relaxed gun control laws will do them absolutley no good if Ashcroft and Bush and Cheney continue to gut the other items of the Bill of Rights with the Patriot Act and the monstrosity add-on act they want to do next.

Sneak, Peak and Seize in the Patriot Act allows your home to be searched without a warrant and without being notified. In secret. All the guns in the world will do them no good if they come home some day and find that Ashcroft's and Bush's Plumbers have been there under the auspices of the Patriot Act, without a warant, without notice and seized their guns in a pre-emptive raid on a 'possible' terroist.

What will they do then? Go file a police report that their guns have mysteriously disappeared with no sign of forcible entry ? Will the police just knowingly smile at them and take a report and tell them they will get back to them, all the while knowing their guns were seized under the Patriot Act ?

The Patriot Act has all kinds of mechanisms to do end runs around the Bill of Rights that will, in effect, abrogate any of the amendments that are sacrosanct to the NRA and the gun lobby. If they don't admit it, they have their head in the sand.

It is a good reason to vote Democratic and get Bush, Cheney and Ashcroft out of our White House ! Vote Democratic before Bush and Ashcroft do an end run around the 2nd Amendment and seize citizen guns !

(get my drift?)

20. Ahhh, yes, I agree, scare the shit out of them on the Patriot Act
Of course there's a whole bunch of them that we will have to educate to understand that the Patriot Act has nothing to do with a NE football team but I've always thought that that was a damn good tactic. Apparently, a lot of the far righties are as afraid of this act as the left is. But I've always liked the concept that this act goes further in someday actually taking your guns than anything any Dem has ever dreamed up, ever!!!!

just told me the other day that he loves Clark. Without even knowing his position on issues, I think there's some white male appeal for the general. He just might be a player here before all is said and done.

I'm assuming she's running as a Dem. If not I suspect she's flexible for the right amount. There is NO question that she could raise money REALLY well (a dollar at a time wink wink).

Hey come on, its Friday, gotta cut up a little !
