Opinion-Purveyors,not op-ed columnists.

Holding an opinion because you believe in what you are saying used to be the trademark of many respected columnists in years past.Now, we see a multitude of people like George Will, Mickey Kaus,David Brooks,Nick Kristof and others whose opinions will undergo a sea change if the money flow for their ink dries up.They are in effect pay for play columnists.

The best example of this obscene transformation is a man called David Horowitz who used to be a virulent left winger whose support included the Black Panthers.He has now embraced the right wing orthodoxy of George Bush, Ronald Reagan and others because---surprise!-- that is where the money is.

that the Falwells and Robertsons and the Dobsons can be trusted to cite the Bible if enough money was available to seek their "blessings" in support of abortion, stem cell research and evolution.Same with almost every other issue that are the triggers for the Right Wing bad squad. Who knows what miracles will materialize if funding for the liberal slant was available at a level equivalent to the Right Wing money machines?

May be a day will dawn even George Will would be able to write as if we peons need to understand what he writes.
