Why is Brian Nichols Getting None Stop News Media Coverage?

Something is up with this. This is not normal. 8 people were killed in Wisconsin today but that story is only an "interruption" of the the news coverage of Brian Nichols. I am really beginning to wonder if "race" is a factor in the prodigious amount of news coverage of this story. It is like the O.J. Simpson story all over again.

is a major news market and of course CNN is headquartered there. More newspeople, more cameras, more of everything.

Edit to add that the perp in the other case is dead, so there is no drama.

3. it's a revealing story

in a sociological sense. It's about where the (right wing) psychopaths among us are- who they're enraged at now and "why".

Make a list of these boys during the last ten years and look at 'em. OJ, Koresh, McVeigh, Kaczynski, Hale, and more recently Eric Rudolph, Scott Peterson, the SLC abduction story, and so forth. There's a pattern there, which people sort of sense and understand/misunderstand about what society at large is up to. It's a psychopathological correlate of social change. People care nothing about the victims or perps, really, it's all a way of talking about themselves and society.

that they are devoting all their time to that and hardly a mention on the "church" shooting this morning. I can hear "Church Lady" saying "wouldn't be prudent".

A black man has killed white people. The news media always gets excited when there is a racial element to a story. The news media exacerbates racial problems.

End of story. 8 people were killed today and it seems that's the end of it. So why the on and on and on with this story. What the constant "in your face" with this story?

CNN and FOX and it's the same reporter faces telling the same story over and over again. This is not normal. Cnn is still running it already. Swat teams moving in; guns in hands shown. On and on, it's still going on . . . How he slipped through their fingers. It's OJ all over again.

9. So we won't know what is going on elsewhere in the world...
or the simple fact that a judge was killed in his own courtroom along with other innocent citizens.

Things are going so bad for * that I expect a "terra alert" when this story moves on. Maybe even an act of "terra-ism", brought to you by * himself or his cronies served up on corporate media with a smile and many viagra and cialis commercials.

A scary looking Black killer always makes better news than a White killer. Did you notice no picture of the Wisconsin killer and most of the news articles fail to mention his name.

17. Murder of a judge or cop always
gets more attention than that of an ordinary person.
The shooting of that Chicago judge's husband and mother also got a lot of media coverage.

It's something about "society's foundations being more threatened" by such acts, although I'm not sure such a double standard is valid.

and because it was judge (esp since that other judge's family was just murdered) and in a court house.

I agree, the Wisconsin church shooting isn't getting much attention, and that's a shame. Since the killer committed suicide, there's not a whole state out there looking for him as there was for Nicols. (Plus it was a church, and those church goin' folks never do stuff like this /sarcasm.)

But, no I don't think that race was a factor. He killed whites and blacks, and blacks and whites helped catch him.
